Why Aqua Saver Makes a Great Upgrade for your RV

The Aqua Saver allows you to gain access to the inside of your RV's fresh water tank. You may ask why you would want to do that, and I asked that same question when we found this product. After talking with the manufacturer and listening to what they had to say, I figured I would roll the dice and order one up for testing. I was also curious as to what was going on in my water tank, although my RV at that time was rather new being only 6 months old and I thought for sure I would find a squeaky clean tank.

When we received the unit in we also brought in the special hole saw that makes installation a breeze. I propped up the back bed where the fresh tank was located and began drilling. With in a minute I had a nice 7" diameter hole in my tank and with excitement I peered in. I could not believe my eyes! The bottom of the tank had quite a bit of algae in it. (see below, that is my 6 month old RV's water tank) Wondering why since I drained my tank religiously, I found that the drain line (which also was used as the water put supply line was set about 1" from the bottom of the tank, not allow for complete draining. Also there was a screen over the drain line which I am sure was also used to keep crud from entering the water pump.

Although algae in water tanks does not seem to be a major health problem for RV'ers since most do not drink the water in the fresh tank, it is nice to keep the tank clean and know if you needed to you could drink the water algae free.
