The Demco Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute and Mercury Mariner Base Plate # 9518219 is virtually unseen and won't protrude out, hang below or rise above your bumper or grill. A base plate is the frame work that allows you to hook a tow bar to your Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute or Mercury Mariner and tow it 4 wheels down. Demco takes safety seriously and uses Finite Elemental Analysis (FEA) when testing base plates for strength, functionality and durability. Each base plate bolts permanently to the chassis of your vehicle and provides a secure, reliable attachment point for all Demco tow bars or Blue Ox, Ready Brute and Roadmaster tow bars with added adapter.
