How It Works
The Blue Streak Dispenser is a precision chemical injector that automatically adds a metered amount of tank treatment to your RV toilet’s flush line. The T-valve uses a venturi system to create suction, drawing the chemical from the reservoir and mixing it with the water as it passes through. A built-in check valve stabilizes the system between flushes. To ensure proper operation, an arrow on the T-valve indicates the correct water flow direction—if installed backward, it will not draw chemicals. The metering tip controls the chemical-to-water ratio, delivering approximately one ounce of chemical per five gallons of water. This creates a blue tint in the toilet bowl, typically between royal blue and sky blue. The metering tip is preset, requiring no manual adjustments. The reservoir, which holds the chemical solution, should be mounted at or below the toilet’s height. If positioned higher, the chemical may flow freely into the bowl, producing a darker blue color. When reattaching the reservoir line, always apply silicone sealer to the fitting to prevent leaks. The mold line on the stem can sometimes allow minor leakage if not properly sealed. Additionally, a tube pinch clamp on the line between the reservoir and T-valve serves as a service shut-off, useful for toilet maintenance or stopping the chemical flow when needed. Winterizing the Blue Streak Dispenser Before winterizing your RV, allow the chemical level in the reservoir to run as low as possible. Follow your standard RV winterization process as usual. To remove any remaining chemical from the reservoir, unscrew the tank from the wall while keeping the tubing attached, then pour the leftover solution into a separate container for future use.
