What is fire mesh technology?
Fire mesh is made from weaving proprietary stainless steel and is the surface in which your fuel burns on top of. It can endure up to 2,700 degrees Fahrenheit (a normal campfire usually is only 1,500 degrees) and supports up to 125 lbs of fuel. Fire mesh allows airflow to pass up underneath your fire for more efficient burning and less smoke, while still containing 98% of ash and debris to the pit.
What is heat shield technology?
The heat shield is aluminum, fireproof material that attaches to your Pop-Up Pit's frame and reflects the heat of your fire back up, preventing hot surfaces below or even worse, burning or starting an accidental fire. The heat shield is effective in that the fire mesh above prevents heat from building up on the heat shield, due to the fire mesh's ability to allow air to flow through.
