Floor-mounted tandem axle tire locking chock. Placed on the ground between tires and extended to lock against both tires simultaneously. 15-1/4" to 23-1/8" extension range. Lightweight and easy to store.
The BAL 28000A is the Standard Tire Locking Chock — the floor-mounted tandem axle chock in BAL's lineup. Unlike the 28005 Deluxe which fits between the tires at hub height, the 28000A is placed on the ground between the two tires and extends outward from ground level, locking against the base of both tire sidewalls simultaneously to prevent tire shifts and reduce front-to-rear trailer rocking.
The 28000A's wider extension range (15-1/4" to 23-1/8") gives it broader reach than the between-tire models, making it applicable to a wider variety of tandem axle spacings. It is lightweight and designed to store easily in an RV compartment when not in use. For trailers where the between-tire chocks can't fit or where a floor-mounted approach is preferred, the 28000A is the straightforward go-to in the BAL chock family.
• 1x BAL 28000A Standard Tire Locking Chock Also in the BAL chock family: • 28005 / 28005A — Deluxe Tire Locking Chock (between tires, opens to 10") • 28010 — X-Chock Standard, single (between tires, extends to 10") • 28012 — X-Chock Standard, 2-pack • 28014 — X-Tended Fit X-Chock, single (extends to 17") • 28024 — X-Tended Fit X-Chock, 2-pack
Like all BAL tire locking chocks, the 28000A is a stabilizer, not a primary safety chock. It is designed to reduce trailer movement on a parked, already-leveled trailer. It should not be used as a substitute for wedge chocks during leveling, and it is not intended to prevent the trailer from rolling on a slope. Correct sequence: Level and secure your trailer with wedge chocks and jacks first, then deploy the locking chock between the tires for added stabilization.
The 28000A is the best choice when between-tire clearance is insufficient for the hub-height chocks, or when a floor-mounted approach is preferred. For most standard tandem axle trailers, the X-Chock 28010/28012 provides the most flexible fit and the most effective stabilization.
