Coupler types explained

• Adjustable couplers: Allow height changes to level the trailer.

How to choose the right coupler

• Ball size: Must match your hitch ball exactly—1-7/8 inch (up to 2,000 lbs), 2 inch (up to 3,500 lbs), or 2-5/16 inch (up to 14,000+ lbs).
• Weight rating: Coupler must meet or exceed your trailer's Gross Trailer Weight (GTW).
• Tongue width: Measure your tongue tube (2-inch, 2-1/2-inch, or 3-inch are standard).
• Latch type: Lever, trigger, or sleeve—trigger latches are generally more secure.
