Convert an existing vehicle-side 4-way flat connector to a 7-way RV blade socket for trailers requiring additional electrical functions. The adapter carries standard trailer lighting through the 4-way connection while providing separate wiring for brakes, reverse lights, auxiliary power, and ground.
Curt 57184 allows a tow vehicle already equipped with a 4-way flat trailer connector to accept a trailer with a standard 7-way RV blade plug. The existing 4-way connection supplies the basic taillight, brake-light, and turn-signal functions without requiring those circuits to be rewired.
Additional wire leads allow the remaining 7-way functions to be connected as needed, including electric trailer brakes, reverse or auxiliary lights, 12V auxiliary power, and a dedicated ground. The plastic 7-way socket features a spring-loaded dust cover, while protective slit loom keeps the wiring contained and protected.
Converts a vehicle-side 4-way flat socket for use with a 7-way RV blade trailer plug
Supports lighting, trailer brakes, reverse lights, auxiliary power, and ground
Helps keep the 7-way socket clean when no trailer is connected
Keeps the adapter wiring contained and protected during installation
Plugging the vehicle's existing 4-way connector into Curt 57184 provides the basic trailer-lighting functions. Electric brakes, reverse lights, 12V auxiliary power, and the adapter ground must be connected separately as required for the trailer and tow vehicle configuration.
Curt 57184 does not include a mounting bracket. If a fixed mounting location is desired, use a compatible Curt 7-way connector bracket or select Curt 57185, which is the corresponding 4-way-to-7-way adapter supplied with a mounting bracket.
In The Package: • Curt 57184 4-Way Flat to 7-Way RV Blade Electrical Adapter
If the trailer uses electric brakes, a compatible brake controller and the appropriate vehicle wiring are required to activate the 7-way trailer-brake circuit. A brake controller is not included with Curt 57184.
