The Curt 58550 provides both the vehicle-side and trailer-side ends of a standard 5-way flat electrical connection. It is designed to supply the basic trailer lighting circuits along with an additional reverse-light circuit, making it especially useful for trailers equipped with surge brakes.
The connector features 72 inches of standard color-coded, bonded 16-gauge loop wire. The loop can be cut and spliced into the existing vehicle and trailer wiring or left intact to serve as an extension harness for an existing compatible 5-way flat connection.
