The Camco 44436 Curved Trailer Aid lets you drive the good tandem tire up onto a ramp and drop the flat tire to the ground -- no jack, no floor stands, no waiting for roadside assistance. At 6.5 inches of lift and a 20,000 lb trailer rating, it covers the vast majority of travel trailers, fifth wheels, and boat trailers on the road today. The included wheel chock and rubber base pad mean you have everything you need to do the job safely, right out of the box.
If you tow a tandem axle trailer -- travel trailer, fifth wheel, boat trailer, horse trailer -- you already know that a standard scissor or bottle jack is awkward at best and dangerous at worst on a soft or sloped shoulder. The Camco Curved Trailer Aid eliminates that risk. Simply chock the opposite tire, drive the adjacent good tire slowly up the curved ramp, and the flat tire lifts free of the ground. Swap the tire, drive back down, and you're back on the road.
The curved ramp profile is engineered to work with single and dual rear wheels on trailers up to 20,000 lb gross trailer weight. The honeycomb-reinforced high-strength plastic construction keeps weight down without sacrificing load capacity, and the integrated carry handle makes it easy to grab from a storage bay and bring it to the roadside in seconds.
Enough clearance to remove and reinstall a flat tire on trailers with standard ride heights -- no jack required.
Handles the full range of travel trailers, fifth wheels, and heavy boat trailers on tandem axles.
Accommodates ST205/75R15 through ST235/85R16 and common boat trailer tire sizes without modification.
Includes the curved ramp, a matching wheel chock, and a rubber base pad. No separate purchases needed.
Camco ships the 44436 as a complete tire-change kit so you're not hunting for compatible accessories separately:
The curved ramp is a popular secondary tool for leveling a trailer at uneven campsites. Drive one side of the trailer up the ramp to fine-tune side-to-side tilt without adding leveling blocks. It is not a replacement for dedicated stackable leveling blocks on long stays, but it works well for a quick overnight level on a slight slope.
The Curved Trailer Aid works by using one axle to lift the other. It requires a tandem (two-axle) trailer setup. It will not work on a single-axle trailer where there is only one tire per side.
The ramp is molded from high-strength plastic with a weight-saving honeycomb internal structure. That design keeps the unit light enough to carry in one hand -- important when you're changing a tire on the side of a highway -- while maintaining the rigidity needed under a heavy trailer tongue weight load. The integrated handle is built into the ramp body, not a separate strap that can break or get lost.
At 10" tall x 19" wide x 5-3/4" deep, the ramp stores flat in most trailer storage bays, under-bed compartments, or in a tow vehicle's truck bed without taking up significant space. The chock and pad nest alongside the ramp for compact storage.
Keep the ramp, chock, and pad bundled together in a mesh bag or bungee-secured stack in your trailer's exterior storage bay. You want this kit accessible in seconds at roadside, not buried under gear.
Always use the included rubber base pad under the ramp. On loose gravel, wet pavement, or grass, the pad significantly reduces the chance of the ramp shifting during the drive-up maneuver. Even with the pad, avoid using this tool on steep side slopes -- get to a flatter surface if at all possible before attempting the tire swap.
