The Camco 55283 PowerGrip Mini is a compact version of the 55242 full-size replacement plug — same NEMA TT-30P male configuration, same 125V/3750W rating, same wire-on installation, but with a smaller overall housing that is specifically designed to fit completely inside the RV's power cord cable hatch so the hatch door can be fully closed during travel.
On many RVs, the standard full-size 55242 replacement plug is too large to retract fully into the cable hatch, leaving the plug protruding or preventing the door from closing. The 55283 solves this: at 5.75" x 3.88" x 2.50", it is compact enough to tuck into the cable compartment with the cord, keeping the exterior clean and the plug protected from road debris, rain, and UV exposure while driving. Like the 55242, it includes a PowerGrip ergonomic handle for easy gripping and unplugging, and wiring instructions for safe installation.
Installation is identical to the full-size 55242: 1. Cut back the cord jacket and strip each wire end 2. Connect wires to the correct terminals per the included wiring instructions 3. Secure the housing around the cord Standard wire terminal assignments (typical 30A RV cord): Black = Hot (X) · White = Neutral (W) · Green/Bare = Ground (G) Always disconnect the cord from shore power completely before doing any wiring work.

If your RV's cable hatch door closes fully with the standard replacement plug stored inside, the 55242 works fine. If the plug protrudes or prevents the door from closing, the 55283 Mini is the solution.
