Change a flat trailer tire on the side of the road without unloading your cargo, without a second person, and without crawling under a loaded rig. The Camco Trailer-Aid is the simplest roadside tire tool an RV or trailer owner can carry.
The Trailer-Aid works on a simple principle: drive the good tire on the same axle up onto the ramp. That elevates the flat tire off the ground just enough -- 3.5 inches of clearance -- to swap the wheel without a floor jack, without a block stack, and without emptying the trailer. Solo roadside tire changes that used to take two people and 45 minutes now take one person and a fraction of the time.
Built from a lightweight but high-strength polymer, the Trailer-Aid weighs only 7.5 lbs, so it stores easily in a truck bed, a trailer cargo bay, or a tow vehicle's storage compartment. The bright yellow color makes it easy to find in a dark storage bin when you need it fast.
Keep cargo in the trailer while you work. No need to transfer load, rebalance, or re-strap after the tire change.
Rated for trailers up to 15,000 lbs gross weight -- suitable for most travel trailers, fifth wheels, utility trailers, and horse trailers.
Raises the flat tire 3.5 inches off the pavement -- enough clearance to remove and reinstall a standard trailer wheel without digging.
Super-strong polymer construction keeps unit weight at just 7.5 lbs. No rust, no corrosion, and easy to handle in any weather.
Using the Trailer-Aid requires no tools and no special skill. Place the ramp on a firm, level surface next to the good tire on the same axle as the flat. Slowly drive or pull the trailer forward until the good tire is fully seated on top of the ramp. Set the trailer brake or wheel chock the opposite side, then change the flat tire normally. Drive back off the ramp once the spare is torqued down.
At 7.5 lbs and a compact profile, the Trailer-Aid stows flat in nearly any compartment. Many owners keep it bungeed to a trailer sidewall, tucked in an RV basement bay, or behind the rear seat of a pickup. The bright yellow color doubles as a visual safety marker when working roadside.
The Trailer-Aid is designed to work with standard trailer tires mounted on steel or aluminum wheels. It is suitable for travel trailers, fifth-wheel trailers, utility trailers, boat trailers, horse trailers, and cargo trailers with a gross weight rating at or below 15,000 lbs. Tire width compatibility covers the range of common single trailer tires -- the ramp surface is wide enough to seat tires from typical ST175 sizes up through wider LT-series trailer tires.
