CarCover 5-Ply Top Panel Lifetime Warranty Gold Shield 5L Class C RV Cover -- Fits 32 to 35 Foot Motorhomes

The CarCover Gold Shield 5L is a premium all-weather RV cover engineered specifically for Class C motorhomes in the 32 to 35 foot length range. Its five-layer top and three-layer side panels use a micro-porous film core that blocks rain, snow, and UV while staying breathable enough to prevent the mold, mildew, and trapped condensation that destroys paint and decals during long-term storage.

All-Season Storage Protection Built for Class C Rigs

Class C motorhomes present unique cover challenges -- a cab-over bunk that protrudes forward, roof-mounted AC units, external ladder rails, and varying roofline heights. The Gold Shield 5L is purpose-cut for this body style, with a contoured slip-seam design, dedicated AC unit accommodations for up to three units, and a ladder cap that keeps sharp ladder edges from abrading the fabric.

Whether you store your rig outdoors year-round, winter it under a carport, or park it in an exposed lot between seasonal trips, this cover is rated to handle scorching summer UV, ice and heavy snow loads, wind, tree sap, bird droppings, and road dust. The reflective outer panels also improve nighttime visibility around the parked rig -- a practical safety detail in crowded RV parks and storage yards.

5-Layer Top Construction

Four polypropylene PLUS layers surround a central micro-porous film. The result is a top panel that sheds water and resists UV without trapping moisture underneath.

3-Layer Side Panels

Two polypropylene PLUS layers with a micro-porous film core protect the sidewalls and slide-out areas, maintaining breathability on all vertical surfaces.

Zippered Entry Panels

Heavy-duty zippered panels let you access the motorhome door without removing the entire cover -- ideal for quick access during partial storage periods.

Secure Fit System

Adjustable buckle straps eliminate slack and stop billowing in wind. Elastic hems at front and rear corners lock the cover snugly around the cab and rear cap.

Fabric Technology: Why the Layering Matters

Standard single-layer or two-layer covers trap humidity against your RV's surface. The micro-porous film used in the Gold Shield 5L acts as a one-way barrier -- liquid water and UV radiation cannot penetrate inward, but water vapor from the RV's warm interior can escape outward. This prevents the condensation cycle that causes delamination, oxidation, and mildew on paint, fiberglass, and rubber roofs.

The polypropylene PLUS outer and inner layers add abrasion resistance and tensile strength. CarCover specifies double-line stitching at all seam junctions to resist tearing at the highest-stress contact points -- particularly the roofline edge where the cover drapes over the cab-over.

Blocks 98 percent of dirt and dust -- The dense outer polypropylene layers filter airborne particulates before they reach your RV's surface, keeping wax and gel coat in better condition between uses.

Class C-Specific Design Details

  • Accommodates up to three rooftop AC units without forcing the cover out of shape.
  • Ladder cap protects the cover fabric where it contacts the rear ladder's top edge and rungs.
  • Gutter protection strips shield the cover where it drapes over roof rain gutters.
  • Top layer material extends downward onto the upper sidewall for additional side coverage at the roofline transition.
  • Slip-seam body conforms to the cab-over profile and reduces wind drag that causes covers to shift during storms.
  • Built-in roof vents encourage airflow across the entire roof surface, reducing heat buildup in summer storage.

Installation and Handling

The Gold Shield 5L installs without tools. Weighted buckle straps at the sides are thrown over the roof and cinched down, while the elastic hems are worked around the front cab corners and rear cap. The cover weighs 25 lbs -- manageable for one person with a ladder, though a two-person team speeds the process on a 35-foot rig.

What is included: Gold Shield 5L cover (gray), patch kit for field repairs, and a storage bag for compact folding and transport when the RV is in use.

Long-Term Storage Tips

Storage and maintenance tips:
  • Rinse the cover with plain water periodically to remove abrasive grit that can work into the fabric surface.
  • Inspect buckle straps after high-wind events and re-cinch as needed.
  • Before covering, ensure the RV roof is clean and dry to maximize the breathability benefit.
  • Fold and store the cover in the included bag when not in use to protect the micro-porous film layer from UV degradation.
  • Use the included patch kit immediately if small tears or punctures appear -- do not allow tears to propagate to seam areas.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing
  • This cover is designed for Class C motorhomes only. It is NOT intended for Class A coaches, fifth wheels, travel trailers, or Class B vans. Verify your RV body type before ordering.
  • Measure your RV's overall length (including any front or rear overhangs, bike racks, or spare tire carriers) before selecting a size. The 5RV-CC-3235 is sized for rigs 32 ft to 35 ft in overall length.
  • Always clean and dry the RV exterior before applying the cover. Installing over dirt or grit can cause fine scratching of paint and gel coat during wind movement.
  • Do not allow ice or snow to accumulate to excessive depths on the cover without periodically clearing it -- extreme snow loads can stress the buckle strap anchors.
  • The cover is water-resistant and breathable but is not a substitute for a hard enclosure. In extreme coastal salt-air or hurricane-prone storage environments, additional tie-down measures are recommended.
  • Patch kit repairs are intended for small punctures or minor tears only. Large tears or seam failures require cover replacement.
Protecting your RV with a quality cover is essential for maintaining its value and longevity. RVs are significant investments that are often exposed to harsh weather conditions, making them susceptible to damage from corrosion, mold, and UV rays. Unlike standard vehicles, RVs serve as mobile homes for many, and a cover can provide added insulation and privacy, enhancing your comfort while protecting against the elements. By investing in an RV cover, you reduce wear and tear, ensuring that your RV remains in excellent condition for years to come.

How To Measure Your RV:

Length: Measure the longest two points from the front to the rear of RV, including bumpers, spare tire, and ladder.

Height: Measure the highest point of the RV sidewalls from the top of the roof down to the outside frame, excluding ground clearance, roof-mounted accessories, vents, and A/C units.

How to Install Your RV Cover:

1. Identify the front of the cover by locating the "Front" tag on the interior.
2.
Lay the cover lengthwise on the ground, inside out, with the exterior facing up.
3.
Fold the sides toward the center and roll the cover from the rear, leaving the front end loose.
4.
Position the rolled cover at the rear of the RV near the ladder.
5.
Loosen the roll slightly, then climb the ladder while holding the front end.
6.
Pull the cover onto the roof gradually until you have a strip covering the entire roof.
7.
Starting at the front, unfold the cover side to side, letting it drape down the sides as you move to the rear.
8.
Ensure the corner opposite the ladder is positioned under the cover’s corner.
9.
Climb down while bringing the cover down with you, then adjust the cover as needed.

Removal:

1. Undo all straps and zippers on the cover.
2.
Lift the front of the cover to the top of the RV.
3.
Pull the cover down from the rear.

For Cleaning:

Proper care of your RV cover is essential for maintaining its performance and water resistance. Contaminants like dirt and grease can damage the cover, so regular washing is recommended for long-lasting protection.

You can wash the cover by hand or in a washing machine. For hand washing, install the cover on your RV, rinse it with a hose, then use a cloth and multi-purpose cleaner to scrub. Rinse again and either towel dry or let it air dry.

For machine washing, use the largest machine available, set it to gentle mode, and wash with mild powder detergent in cold water—avoid bleach and fabric softeners. Rinse the cover twice to remove all detergent, and always air dry.
