The EZ ZipBlocker ships as two fabric panels plus hardware. On first install, you slide the narrow Lead panel into the open slot on your awning's roller tube -- the same slot that holds the awning canopy edge. This panel is thin enough that it rolls up with the awning without straining the motor or manual crank and without bulging the canopy roll.
When you extend the awning at your campsite, the Lead panel hangs down from the roller tube along the inside edge of the canopy. To add shade, you unpack the main 6-foot blocker panel and zip it onto the Lead from ground level. Velcro attachments and included grommets and ground stakes let you tension the bottom of the shade against wind. When it is time to pack up, unzip the blocker, fold it away, and roll the awning as normal -- the Lead rides along inside the tube.
