The Thetford 50041 is the left-hand OEM cassette waste holding tank for Thetford C400 series permanent cassette toilets — the removable tank that slides out from the exterior service door to be transported to a dump station for emptying. Previously known as Thetford part number 3232606, this is the same direct-fit OEM replacement under an updated part number.
Cassette toilet tanks are replaced when they crack, develop leaks, or when a spare tank is desired for extended trips — swapping a full tank for an empty one allows continued use while the first tank is transported and emptied at leisure. The tank holds 5 gallons of waste, rolls on two built-in wheels, and extends a tow handle so it can be pulled to the dump station without carrying the full weight. The sealed pour-out valve and cap contain odors during transport.
This is the left-hand version. "Left-hand" means the tank removes from the left side of the toilet when seated on it. The right-hand version (3232706) removes from the right.
