The Thetford 50241 is the OEM replacement flush controller for the Thetford Tecma Silence Plus macerating toilet — the electronic module that manages the toilet's flush cycle, controlling the solenoid valve, macerator pump, and flush timing sequence when the wall switch panel is activated. Previously known as Thetford part number 36398, this is the same direct-fit OEM replacement under an updated part number.
The controller is typically mounted behind the wall or within the toilet's installation cavity — separate from the wall switch panel that the user touches. When the controller fails, the symptoms are usually that pressing the flush buttons produces no response from the toilet even though the wall switch panel itself appears functional. The Tecma Silence Plus flush system has two separate components: Wall switch panel (50007 / 36387): The buttons and bezel mounted on the wall that the user presses. If the buttons are physically broken or unresponsive to the touch — this is the part to replace. Controller (50241 / 36398): The electronics module mounted behind the wall or in the installation cavity. Receives the signal from the wall panel and operates the macerator and solenoid. If pressing the buttons produces no toilet response at all — the controller is the likely culprit. If both are failed, the all-in-one panel (38072) replaces both as a single unit.
