The Dometic 3314851.000 is the universal non-ducted air distribution box (ADB) — the interior ceiling assembly that mounts directly under a Dometic rooftop air conditioner and distributes conditioned air into the RV cabin. It serves as the mechanical and electrical bridge between the rooftop unit and the living space: it attaches to the A/C with four bolts through the roof, seals the unit to the ceiling, provides the intake and discharge air paths, and houses the manual control knobs for operating the system.
This is a non-ducted assembly — air blows directly down into the living space from the ceiling unit rather than being routed through a duct system. The manual knobs (thermostat and fan speed selector) are mounted on the end of the unit for easy visibility and access from the cabin. Because controls are built into the unit, no wall thermostat or communication wiring is required — making this the simplest ceiling assembly to install and operate. A return air filter is built in to keep dust and debris out of the rooftop unit. If the RV's roof is more than 4" thick, a separate bolt extension kit (3314998.xxx) is required.

Dometic makes two closely related universal non-ducted ADBs for the same A/C units: 3314851.000 (this item): Has manual control knobs on the unit — thermostat and fan speed. No wall thermostat needed. Simplest setup. 3314850.000: No controls on the unit — must be paired with a compatible wall thermostat (such as CT kit 9600024570 or 9600024569). Use when you want thermostat control from the wall instead of the ceiling. If you want the simplest possible A/C setup with no extra wiring, use the 3314851.000. If you prefer wall-mounted thermostat control, use the 3314850.000 with a CT thermostat kit.
