Dometic 300 Series Bone White / Standard Height Dometic 300 Series 400 BNE Standard Height RV Toilet -- Bone White

The Dometic 300 Series is one of the most popular and widely replaced RV toilets on the market, and the 400 BNE is the standard-height, bone white variant with foot-flush operation and a genuine vitreous china bowl. If your current toilet is cracked, stained, or just worn out, this is a direct bolt-down swap onto your existing 3-inch RV floor flange -- no plumbing rework required in most installations.

A True Porcelain Bowl in a Lightweight RV Package

Most budget RV toilets ship with plastic bowls that stain, scratch, and retain odors over time. The Dometic 300 Series uses a vitreous china bowl -- the same material as residential toilets -- so the surface stays cleaner longer and resists the discoloration that plagues plastic. At 17 lbs, it is still light enough for a solo installer to handle.

The 400 BNE designation breaks down like this: 400 refers to the 300 Series platform (the model family), B indicates the bone white color, N indicates no seat included (seat is sold separately), and E indicates the standard-height base. This is the configuration stocked most often in service bays and RV parts warehouses because it fits the widest range of rigs.

Foot-flush operation keeps your hands free and off the flush mechanism -- useful when wearing gloves, managing kids, or working in a tight bathroom space. A full-press of the foot pedal opens the blade valve for a flush; a partial press fills the bowl with fresh water for pre-rinse or odor control.

Vitreous China Bowl

Non-porous ceramic surface resists staining and odor absorption that plague plastic bowls. Easier to clean and longer lasting.

Foot-Flush Pedal

Two-stage pedal: partial press fills bowl with water, full press opens blade valve and flushes. Hands-free and intuitive.

Standard 3-Inch Flange Fit

Bolts directly onto a standard 3-inch RV floor waste flange. Fits the majority of Class A, Class C, fifth-wheel, and travel trailer installations.

Lightweight at 17 lbs

Despite the china bowl, the 300 Series keeps overall weight to 17 lbs -- manageable for one person during installation or replacement.

Where the 400 BNE Fits in the Dometic 300 Series Lineup

Dometic's 300 Series toilet family is available in multiple configurations. Understanding the naming convention helps you order the exact part you need:

  • Color codes: W = white, B = bone white, P = parchment
  • Seat codes: S = seat included, N = no seat included
  • Height codes: E = standard height (approximately 15 inches to rim), H = high profile (approximately 18 inches to rim)
  • 9610008276 (400 BNE): Standard height, bone white, no seat -- the most common service replacement configuration
  • Compatible replacement seat: Dometic 385320284 (bone, 300 Series) or equivalent 300 Series seat

If your current toilet is a Dometic 310 or 320 Series, note that those use a plastic bowl and a slightly different base profile. The 300 Series is the china-bowl upgrade and is not a drop-in swap for the 310/320 without verifying your flange spacing.

Direct Replacement for Dometic 300 Series Toilets

If your existing toilet is a Dometic 300 Series (part numbers in the 9610008xxx range or legacy 302/310 references with the 3-inch flange), the 400 BNE mounts to the same bolt pattern and water supply connection. Most installs take under 30 minutes with basic hand tools.

Installation Overview

The 300 Series mounts to your RV floor using a standard closet bolt kit (typically included -- verify at time of purchase) that engages the 3-inch floor flange. Fresh water supply connects via a 3/8-inch compression or push-fit connection at the back of the base, depending on your rig's existing supply line.

  • Turn off fresh water supply and flush existing toilet to drain
  • Disconnect water supply line at the base of the existing toilet
  • Remove the two or four floor bolts securing the old toilet
  • Lift out old toilet -- have a plastic bag ready for the flange seal
  • Install new wax ring or RV-specific foam seal on the flange
  • Set the 400 BNE onto the flange, align bolt holes, and hand-tighten nuts (do not over-torque china)
  • Reconnect water supply, turn water on, and test flush cycle
Seat Not Included

The "N" in 400 BNE means no toilet seat is included with this unit. You will need to order a compatible 300 Series seat separately. Dometic part 385320284 (bone) is the standard match for this color. Aftermarket seats sized for the 300 Series bowl also fit.

Bone White vs. Parchment vs. White

Bone white (B) is a warm off-white with slight yellow-beige tone. It is different from parchment (P) and from bright white (W). If you are matching an existing bathroom decor or replacing fixtures, confirm your color family before ordering. Colors can look similar in photos but are visibly different side by side.

Maintenance Tips for RV China Toilets
  • Use RV-safe toilet bowl cleaner only -- avoid bleach-based products that can dry out the blade valve seal over time
  • Inspect and lubricate the blade valve seal annually with RV toilet seal lubricant (Dometic or Thetford brand)
  • Do not stand on the bowl rim -- china will crack under point loads that plastic would flex under
  • If the toilet rocks, do not over-tighten the floor bolts -- shim the base level first, then snug the bolts
  • Keep a small amount of water in the bowl at all times when not in use to maintain the seal and reduce odors
Recommended Add-Ons

Complete your installation with these commonly paired items: Dometic 300 Series bone toilet seat (385320284), RV toilet seal lubricant and conditioner, RV-safe toilet treatment tablets or liquid, and a 3/8-inch water supply line if your existing line is worn or corroded.

Important Information
  • Toilet seat is NOT included. Order Dometic 300 Series bone seat (385320284) separately before installation.
  • This is a standard-height model (approximately 15 inches to rim). If you need ADA or high-profile height, order the high-profile (H) variant instead.
  • Vitreous china will crack if dropped or if floor bolts are over-tightened. Snug bolts gently -- never use impact tools on the closet bolts.
  • Bone white is not the same color as parchment or bright white. Confirm your color match before ordering if coordinating with existing fixtures.
  • This toilet requires a 3-inch floor flange. It will not fit a 4-inch residential flange without an adapter, and is not designed for use with a holding tank vent bypass.
  • Not intended for residential or stationary installation without verifying local plumbing code compliance.
