These are lateral ducted, wall thermostat-controlled ceiling assemblies used in RVs with field-fabricated cold air duct systems routed through the ceiling cavity. The 8330*63 series pairs with 47200, 48200, and 49200 Series rooftop air conditioners; the 8530*63 series pairs with 47000, 48000, and 49000 Series heat pumps.
The return air to the ceiling assembly passes through this filter before reaching the evaporator section of the rooftop unit. Keeping the filter clean ensures unrestricted airflow, prevents evaporator coil icing, and maintains efficient cooling and heating performance. A clogged filter restricts airflow through the ducted system and can trigger the built-in freeze protection circuit in the ceiling assembly.

1. Remove the filter from the ceiling assembly's return air opening 2. Wash gently by hand using warm water and mild dish detergent 3. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue 4. Allow to completely air dry before reinstalling — do not use heat 5. Reinstall the dry filter and secure the grille assembly Inspect the filter regularly — more frequently during heavy use or when traveling in dusty environments. Replace when the foam is worn, compressed, torn, or no longer cleans up effectively.
