Flow-Rite 5 Gallon Gravity Feed Flow-Rite BA-MS-702 Gravity Water Tank with Shelf -- 5 Gallon

A straightforward, dependable gravity-fed water storage solution for RVs, boats, cabins, and any space where municipal water pressure is absent or unreliable. The BA-MS-702 holds 5 gallons and ships with a steel mounting bracket so you can secure it to a wall or set it on a shelf -- no pump required for basic gravity-feed delivery.

Reliable Water Storage Without a Pump

The Flow-Rite BA-MS-702 fills a practical gap in RV and off-grid setups: a compact, gravity-fed tank that delivers water by elevation rather than pressure. Mount it high on a wall or set it on a sturdy shelf, connect your outlet line, and gravity does the work. This makes it especially valuable for weekend warriors dry-camping without hookups, full-timers conserving battery power, or boaters needing a dedicated rinse or hand-wash station.

The included steel mounting bracket means you are not hunting for hardware at installation time. The bracket accommodates both shelf-sitting and direct wall-mount configurations, giving you flexibility to fit the tank into tight utility bays, wet baths, or outdoor rinse stations.

5-Gallon Capacity

Holds enough water for handwashing, a quick dish rinse, or pet cleanup at a remote campsite without relying on hookups.

Gravity Feed -- No Pump Needed

Mount above the point of use and water flows by gravity. Zero power draw, no pump to prime or maintain.

Steel Mounting Bracket Included

Ships with a steel shelf/wall bracket so the tank can be secured immediately without sourcing additional hardware.

Shelf or Wall Mount

Dual-use bracket design lets you rest the tank on a flat shelf or fasten it directly to a wall stud or panel.

Typical Applications

  • Dry-camping / boondocking handwash station with no shore power
  • Secondary water supply in RV wet baths or utility rooms
  • Boat deck rinse water reservoir
  • Off-grid cabin or tiny-house gravity-feed sink supply
  • Emergency backup water storage in a motorhome or fifth wheel
  • Pet wash station at a campsite

Gravity Feed Advantage

Because this tank relies on elevation rather than a pressure pump, it draws zero electrical power during use. That is a meaningful benefit on a tight battery budget -- especially when combined with solar or when running appliances that already tax your 12V system. Position the tank at least 18 to 24 inches above your faucet or outlet to maximize flow rate by gravity head.

Installation Overview

Attach the included steel mounting bracket to a wall stud, cabinet panel, or solid shelf surface using appropriate fasteners for your substrate (fasteners not included). Position the tank high enough above your outlet or faucet to achieve the gravity head you need. Connect a gravity-compatible faucet or outlet line to the tank's outlet fitting. Fill through the top inlet and cap securely before travel to prevent spills.

Before You Fill and Go

Gravity tanks do not produce pressurized flow comparable to a 12V demand pump. Flow rate depends entirely on the vertical height (head) between the tank outlet and the point of use. Standard RV faucets designed for 30-60 PSI city water will not function correctly on gravity feed alone -- use a gravity-compatible or low-pressure faucet at the outlet for best results.

Maintenance Tips

  • Rinse the tank interior with a dilute bleach solution (1 tsp per gallon) and flush thoroughly before first use and after extended storage.
  • Inspect the steel mounting bracket for corrosion seasonally -- touch up or replace if surface rust develops.
  • Empty the tank completely before freezing temperatures to prevent cracking.
  • Do not exceed the rated 5-gallon fill -- overfilling adds weight stress on the bracket and mounting surface.

Important Information

  • This tank is a gravity-feed device only -- it does not generate pressure. Standard RV faucets and fixtures rated for 30-60 PSI city water are not compatible without a separate pump.
  • Mounting fasteners are NOT included. Use hardware appropriate for your wall material (wood stud, aluminum framing, composite panel) to safely support a full 5-gallon load (approximately 42 lbs when full).
  • Never exceed 5-gallon capacity. Overfilling stresses the bracket, mounting surface, and tank fittings.
  • Drain completely before freezing temperatures. Water expansion in a sealed tank can cause irreversible cracking.
  • The included bracket is steel and may corrode in high-humidity or marine environments without protective treatment.
  • A compatible gravity-feed faucet or outlet valve must be purchased separately to complete your installation.
