In an RV, drawers can shift and slide during transit or when fully opened — this lock acts as a stop that keeps the drawer on its track without requiring the user to be careful about how far they pull it open. The 71005 is a drawer retention lock — it prevents a drawer from being pulled completely out of the cabinet when opened too far, but does not lock the drawer closed during travel.
