Lippert 10,000-lb Axles Genuine OEM Replacement Lippert 2023134019 Unitized Oil Seal -- 2.875" ID, 3.875" OD, 2-Pack

Protect your trailer wheel ends with genuine Lippert unitized oil seals engineered specifically for 10,000-lb axle applications. This 2-pack covers both sides of a single axle and delivers consistent, long-term sealing to keep lubricant in and road contaminants out.

OEM-Grade Sealing for Heavy-Duty Trailer Axles

The Lippert 2023134019 is a unitized wheel end oil seal designed for Lippert-manufactured 10,000-lb trailer axles. "Unitized" means the seal body, sealing lip, and wear sleeve are factory-assembled as a single unit -- eliminating the alignment errors that can occur when installing separate seal and sleeve components. This design makes installation more repeatable and reduces the risk of premature seal failure caused by misalignment.

The seal fits hubs with a 2.875" spindle shaft diameter (inner bore) and a 3.875" hub bore (outer diameter). If your axle and hub do not match both of these dimensions exactly, this seal is not the correct fit. Confirm measurements before ordering.

Unitized One-Piece Construction

Seal lip, body, and wear sleeve are assembled as a matched unit for consistent, repeatable installation.

10,000-lb Axle Rating

Engineered for the load and rotational demands of heavy-duty 10K trailer axle wheel ends.

2.875" Spindle ID / 3.875" Hub OD

Precise dimensional fit -- both measurements must match your spindle and hub bore before installing.

Sold as a 2-Pack

One package seals both wheel ends on a single axle. No need to buy separately for each side.

Why Use Genuine Lippert Seals?

Lippert manufactures and supplies axles for a wide range of RV trailers, fifth wheels, and utility trailers. Their OEM seals are dimensioned and material-specified to match the exact spindle geometry of their axle families. Aftermarket seals may differ in lip durometer, case tolerance, or wear sleeve hardness -- any of which can affect service life, especially on axles that see highway miles loaded to or near rated capacity.

Using the correct genuine part also matters for warranty documentation if your trailer or axle is still under a Lippert coverage period.

Covers One Full Axle

This 2-pack includes one seal for the driver side and one for the passenger side wheel end. For a tandem-axle trailer, you will need two packages (one per axle).

Unitized vs. Traditional Two-Piece Seals

Traditional setups use a separate oil seal pressed into the hub plus a separate wear sleeve pressed onto the spindle. Unitized seals combine both into a single assembly that installs in one step and automatically positions the sealing lip relative to the wear surface. This reduces installation variables and is the format Lippert specifies for their heavier axle lines.

Installation Overview

Unitized oil seal installation on a trailer hub requires the hub to be removed from the spindle. The old seal must be driven or pressed out cleanly without damaging the hub bore surface. The new unitized seal is then pressed or driven squarely into the hub bore until seated flush. Improper installation angle is the most common cause of early seal failure -- use a proper seal driver sized for the 3.875" OD, not an improvised tool.

  • Clean and inspect the hub bore for scoring or corrosion before pressing in the new seal
  • Inspect the spindle shaft surface for wear grooves -- a worn spindle will cause the new seal to leak prematurely
  • Lightly lubricate the hub bore outer surface before pressing the seal in
  • Do not over-drive the seal -- seat it flush with the hub face, not below it
  • Refill hub with the correct type and quantity of oil after seal replacement

Verify Both Dimensions Before Ordering

This seal is only correct for a 2.875" spindle shaft diameter combined with a 3.875" hub bore. Lippert produces axles in multiple spindle and hub bore sizes. Installing a seal that does not match either dimension will result in immediate leakage or seal failure under load. Check your axle label or measure the spindle and hub bore directly if unsure.

Maintenance Tip

On oil-bath hub systems, wheel end oil level should be checked at every brake inspection interval -- typically annually or every 12,000 miles, whichever comes first. Low oil level is a leading cause of bearing and seal damage. Replace seals any time you see oil weeping at the hub face, smell burning oil near the wheel, or find contaminated or milky-looking oil when the hub cap is removed.

Important Information

  • Confirm your spindle diameter is exactly 2.875" and your hub bore is exactly 3.875" before installing -- incorrect fitment will cause immediate seal failure.
  • This seal is designed for oil-lubricated (oil-bath) wheel end hubs only -- do not use on grease-packed hub assemblies unless your axle manufacturer specifically calls for this seal in that application.
  • Inspect the spindle shaft surface for wear grooves or corrosion before installing a new seal -- a damaged spindle will destroy the new seal quickly regardless of seal quality.
  • Use a proper-sized seal driver tool to press the seal squarely into the hub bore -- improvised drivers can cock the seal and cause immediate leakage.
  • Two seals are included per package -- sufficient for one axle (two wheel ends). Tandem-axle trailers require two packages.
  • Do not reuse a removed oil seal. Once driven out, the case and lip geometry are compromised.
  • Wheel hub reassembly requires correct spindle nut torque and cotter pin or locking hardware -- consult your axle service documentation for the specific torque value applicable to your hub and bearing set.
