Lippert / HappiJac Part 182515 -- Ref. 600510 4160 Jack Systems HappiJac Single Motor Head -- Genuine Replacement Electric Drive

When your HappiJac 4160 series electric camper jack stops responding or the motor drive wears out, Lippert part 182515 is the direct-fit genuine replacement. Swap in this single motor head and get your truck camper leveling and loading system back to reliable, full-power operation.

Stop Struggling With a Dead Jack Motor

The HappiJac 4160 series is one of the most widely used electric camper jack systems on the market, found on hundreds of truck camper models from major manufacturers. Over time -- especially under repeated heavy loads or moisture exposure -- the motor head is the component most likely to wear out first. Brushes degrade, gear mesh loosens, and output torque drops until the jack barely moves or stalls completely under load.

Lippert 182515 is the genuine OEM-replacement single motor head, cross-referenced as HappiJac part 600510. It mounts directly to the 4160 jack body with no modifications, restoring full electric drive performance without replacing the entire jack assembly.

Genuine Replacement

OEM Lippert/HappiJac part -- not an aftermarket approximation. Correct fit for 4160 series jack bodies.

Direct Bolt-On

Designed to match the original mounting interface on the 4160 jack. No drilling, no adapters required.

Single Motor Design

Single-motor head configuration for standard 4160 jack applications. Verify single vs. dual motor setup before ordering.

Restores Full Function

Replacing just the motor head -- not the whole jack -- is the most cost-effective repair when the jack body and screw are still in good condition.

About the HappiJac 4160 Camper Jack System

HappiJac (now a Lippert brand) 4160 series jacks are electric, 12V DC lifting jacks commonly installed in sets of four on the corners of truck campers. They allow a single operator to raise, lower, and level the camper for loading onto or off of a pickup truck bed. Each jack is powered by its own motor head, which engages a threaded screw drive to extend or retract the jack leg. The motor head is the electromechanical heart of each jack.

When to Replace the Motor Head

  • Jack runs but produces little or no movement under load
  • Motor hums or stalls when activated
  • Jack runs in only one direction
  • Motor sparks, smells burned, or makes grinding noises
  • Motor shaft turns but the screw drive does not engage

Installation Overview

Motor head replacement on HappiJac 4160 jacks is a straightforward mechanical job. The motor head unbolts from the top of the jack body, the drive coupler is transferred to the new motor, and the unit is reinstalled. Disconnect the 12V power leads before beginning any work. Reconnect and test in both up and down directions before loading the camper.

Compatibility Verification

This is the single motor head variant. HappiJac 4160 jacks were produced in both single and dual motor configurations. Check the label or existing motor head on your jack before ordering. If your current jack has two motor housings side by side, this single-motor head is not the correct replacement -- you will need the dual motor head version instead. Your jack's label or the original installation documentation will identify your configuration.

What Is NOT Included

  • Jack body, leg, or screw drive assembly -- motor head only
  • Wiring harness or control switch
  • Mounting hardware (reuse factory hardware if in good condition)
  • Controller or hand pendant

Maintenance Tips for Long Motor Life

  • Keep the screw drive lubricated with a dry PTFE or lithium-based grease -- wet grease attracts dirt and accelerates wear
  • Inspect motor wiring connections at the start of each camping season for corrosion
  • Do not run the jack against its hard travel limits repeatedly -- use the limit switches as intended
  • Store the truck camper with jacks partially retracted to reduce stress on extended screw threads
  • Check that your 12V supply is at or above 12.4V under load -- a weak battery causes motors to draw excessive amperage and overheat

Important Information -- Read Before Ordering

  • Single motor only: This part (182515 / 600510) is for single-motor 4160 jack heads. Dual-motor 4160 configurations require a different replacement part. Verify your jack type before purchasing.
  • 4160 series specific: This motor head is designed for the 4160 HappiJac system. It is not confirmed to fit other HappiJac jack families (e.g., 4200, 4400, Power-Tongue). Check your jack label for the model number.
  • 12V DC systems only: Do not attempt to operate on 24V or AC power.
  • Disconnect power before service: Always disconnect the 12V power leads from the motor head before removal or installation to prevent accidental activation.
  • Motor head only: This part does not include the jack body, leg, screw assembly, wiring, switches, or pendant controller. Confirm that the rest of the jack assembly is serviceable before ordering just the motor head.
  • Weight ratings: The load capacity of your jack system is determined by the jack body and screw assembly, not just the motor head. Do not exceed the rated capacity of your 4160 jack regardless of motor condition.
