Dust caps are a small part that do a critical job. A missing, cracked, or corroded cap lets road grime, water, and debris work into the bearing cavity, accelerating wear and risking bearing failure on the road. Lippert's 2023134659 press-in dust cap is built to OEM tolerances so it seats firmly in compatible 2.45" hub bores without tools beyond a rubber mallet.
This is a non-lubed cap designed for use with standard grease-packed bearings. It does not have a grease fitting or Zerk port. If your hubs use an EZ-Lube or Bearing Buddy-style pressurized lubrication system, this cap is not the correct fitment -- select a cap with a grease fitting instead.

These caps are designed to fit trailer and RV hubs with a 2.45" (approximately 2-29/64") bore opening. This is a common dimension on many single- and tandem-axle travel trailer, fifth-wheel, and utility trailer hubs. Before ordering, measure your existing cap's outer diameter or your hub bore to confirm compatibility. A cap that is too small will be loose and fail to retain grease; one that is too large will not seat.
Common compatible hub assemblies include those found on many Lippert-axle-equipped travel trailers, fifth wheels, and toy haulers using standard grease-lubricated bearing packs (not EZ-Lube).
This is a solid non-lubed cap. Do not install on hubs equipped with EZ-Lube spindles, Bearing Buddy systems, or any hub that requires a Zerk fitting in the cap for pressurized greasing. Using the wrong cap type can prevent proper lubrication and cause premature bearing failure.
Inspect dust caps at every bearing repack service (typically every 10,000 to 12,000 miles, or annually for seasonal rigs). Look for dents, pitting, or caps that have loosened in the bore. A slightly loose cap can vibrate out at highway speed -- replace both caps on an axle at the same time so wear is uniform. Always clean the hub bore before pressing in a new cap to ensure a proper seal.
