Lippert70 Amp12V DCLippert 386430 Waterproof Relay Pack -- 70 Amp Hydraulic Slide-Out Control

The Lippert 386430 is a sealed, waterproof relay pack built specifically to control hydraulic slide-out systems on motorhomes and large RVs. With a 70-amp contact rating, a fused positive control lead, and three dedicated motor connection studs, this relay pack delivers reliable, protected switching for your hydraulic slide motor -- even in the wet, road-grime environments typical under a coach chassis.

Reliable Hydraulic Slide Control You Can Count On

Hydraulic slide-out systems put real demands on their electrical components. Motor inrush current, vibration, moisture, and road debris all work against ordinary relays. Lippert designed the 386430 with a fully waterproof housing to survive exactly those conditions, protecting the internal contacts from corrosion and contamination that can cause sluggish or failed slide operation.

The built-in fuse on the positive control lead adds a layer of protection for your slide control harness, preventing collateral damage if a wiring fault occurs. The three motor studs provide solid, low-resistance connections to your hydraulic pump motor -- no crimped terminals that loosen over time.

70-Amp Contact Rating

Handles the high current draw of hydraulic slide-out pump motors without overheating or contact degradation over time.

Waterproof Housing

Sealed enclosure resists moisture, road spray, and chassis dirt -- critical for components mounted beneath the coach floor.

Fused Positive Control Lead

Integrated fuse on the control lead protects your slide control wiring from damage in the event of a short circuit.

3 Motor Connection Studs

Dedicated stud terminals deliver secure, low-resistance connections to the hydraulic pump motor for consistent performance.

Why Relay Packs Fail -- and What to Check First

Relay packs in hydraulic slide systems fail most often due to water intrusion into non-sealed relays, corrosion on motor stud connections, or a blown control-lead fuse caused by a wiring short elsewhere in the circuit. Before replacing the 386430, verify that the fuse on the positive control lead has not blown and that all three motor stud connections are clean and tight. A failed fuse is sometimes the entire problem.

Direct Replacement for Lippert Hydraulic Systems: The 386430 is a factory-spec relay pack for Lippert hydraulic slide-out systems. It carries Lippert internal reference number DN13911. If your coach was built with a Lippert HWH-style or Lippert-branded hydraulic slide system, this is a drop-in replacement without wiring modification.

Installation Overview

The 386430 mounts in place of the existing relay pack using the same footprint. Typical installation involves:

  • Disconnecting the coach battery before beginning any work.
  • Labeling existing motor stud connections before removal so leads return to the correct terminals.
  • Transferring the positive control lead fuse to the new unit if the original fuse is intact and the old relay is the confirmed failure point.
  • Torquing stud nuts to manufacturer spec to ensure low-resistance connections.
  • Re-testing slide-in and slide-out operation through a full cycle after installation.
Manufacturer Reference Number: This relay pack is also cataloged by Lippert as DN13911. Use either number when cross-referencing with Lippert technical support or dealer parts systems.
Fuse Check First: The integrated fuse on the positive control lead is a common failure point separate from the relay itself. If your slide has stopped responding, check and replace the fuse before assuming the relay contacts have failed.
Maintenance Tip: Inspect motor stud connections annually. Apply a thin coat of dielectric grease to the stud threads and terminals after reinstalling leads to slow corrosion, especially on coaches operated in humid or coastal climates.

Important Information
  • Always disconnect the coach battery before removing or installing this relay pack.
  • Label all motor stud connections before removal -- incorrect reassignment of leads will cause incorrect slide operation or motor damage.
  • Check the integrated control-lead fuse before replacing the relay pack. A blown fuse is sometimes the only fault.
  • This relay is rated for 12V DC systems only. Do not use on 24V systems.
  • Contact rating is 70 amps. Do not use as a replacement in systems requiring a higher-rated relay.
  • The waterproof housing must remain intact. Do not drill, modify, or crack the enclosure.
