Lippert / Floe 12V DC NSF 61 + UL Verified Lippert Floe 636 Integrated Water Drain-Down System -- Part LIP809127

The Floe 636 is a permanently installed, 12V-powered drain-down system that uses low-pressure compressed air to push water out of every line in your RV plumbing system -- hot and cold -- in just a few minutes. Forget the antifreeze mess or hauling a separate compressor hookup outside. The Floe lives inside the rig and does the work at the push of a button, whether you are winterizing for the season or purging stagnant water after a long sit.

Blow Out Your Water Lines Without the Guesswork

Traditional RV winterization means either pumping antifreeze through every line or wrestling with an external blow-out adapter and a shop compressor. The Floe 636 eliminates both. It connects directly to your main cold water supply line via the included T-connector and uses a built-in 12V compressor to deliver a controlled 15 PSI air charge -- enough to move water through the lines without over-pressurizing fittings or valves.

The process is simple: connect the system once during installation, then whenever you need to drain down, power it on and open each faucet -- hot and cold -- one at a time. Water is pushed out efficiently and completely. Independent testing shows the system removes up to 99.95% of bacterial buildup from inside your plumbing lines, making it just as useful for a mid-season sanitation flush as it is for end-of-season winterization.

One-Time Install, Reuse Every Time

T-connector included for tapping into your main cold water line. No external hookups needed after installation.

99.95% Bacterial Removal

Compressed air purge clears stagnant water and the bacteria that colonize it -- useful after storage, not just at winterization.

Controlled 15 PSI Output

Low enough to protect your fittings and valves, effective enough to fully evacuate lines on a typical single-axle or Class A coach.

NSF 61 and UL Verified

Certified for contact with potable water. Safe for use in drinking water plumbing systems in RVs, boats, and trailers.

How the Floe 636 Works

Once installed on your cold water main with the included T-connector, the Floe 636 draws 12V power from your RV's house battery or shore power system. When activated, the internal compressor builds pressure and introduces air into the plumbing system. You then open each faucet -- starting at the fixture closest to the pump and working outward -- until water stops flowing and only air discharges. Repeat for hot lines by opening the water heater bypass if equipped. The entire process typically takes under five minutes on most coaches.

No antifreeze is needed with this method (though some owners in extreme climates add a small amount to P-traps as extra insurance). The system can be used as frequently as needed -- after a camping trip, before a storage period, or any time you want to flush old water from the lines.

Winterizing Tip: Use the Floe 636 to push water out of all supply lines first, then add a small amount of RV-safe antifreeze (approximately 1/4 cup) down each drain to protect P-traps. This combination approach gives you the best protection in hard-freeze climates without filling your supply lines with antifreeze.

Applications

  • Class A, B, and C motorhomes
  • Fifth wheels and travel trailers with 12V house systems
  • Toy haulers, horse trailers with living quarters
  • Boats and marine vessels with freshwater plumbing
  • Cabins and off-grid structures with 12V power available

Installation Overview

The Floe 636 mounts to a wall or cabinet in your wet bay or utility compartment. Overall dimensions are 7.87 inches long x 6.69 inches high x 2.36 inches deep, and it weighs 1.8 lbs, so it fits easily in tight spaces. The T-connector included allows you to splice into the cold water main without cutting out a pipe section -- a standard push-fit or compression T depending on your plumbing type. 12V power is wired to a convenient switched circuit or directly to the house battery with a fuse.

Installation Note: The T-connector is included and is designed for the main cold water supply line. Hot-side lines are purged by working from the faucet end once the cold supply is pressurized with air -- no second tap point is required on the hot side in most RV plumbing layouts.
Heads Up: Close your water pump and shut off the city water inlet before activating the Floe system. Running the air purge with the water pump active or city water still connected will prevent proper line evacuation and may cause the pump to run dry.
Maintenance Tip: After each drain-down cycle, leave all faucets cracked open until you are ready to re-pressurize the system. This prevents trapped air pockets from creating water hammer when you reconnect your water source.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing and Operating
  • Shut off the city water inlet and RV water pump before activating the Floe drain-down system. Operating with city water connected or the pump running will interfere with the air purge and may damage the pump.
  • The 15 PSI output is designed for standard RV PEX and CPVC plumbing. Do not use on systems with known fittings rated below 15 PSI.
  • This system purges supply lines only. P-traps and holding tank vents require separate winterization steps (RV antifreeze in drains).
  • Verify your water heater bypass valve is in the bypass position before running the purge if you do not want to blow air through the water heater tank.
  • Do not operate at ambient temperatures below freezing -- the unit itself is not rated for freeze exposure during storage.
  • NSF 61 certification applies to potable water contact materials. Maintain the unit and connections per Lippert guidelines to preserve certification compliance.
  • This product carries a Limited 1-Year Warranty through Lippert. Register your product with Lippert at time of purchase.
