Everything you need to re-anchor a Solera slide topper awning to your RV slide-out room. This kit replaces worn, bent, or missing hex rods, mounting brackets, and associated fasteners so your topper tracks and tensions correctly -- without a trip to the dealer.
The mounting hardware on a Solera slide topper takes a beating every time the slide extends or retracts. Hex rods corrode, brackets crack, and fasteners back out. When that happens the fabric loses tension, pools water, and can tear. Lippert part 701665 (vendor part 55-5401) is the factory-matched kit that puts things right.
Rather than sourcing individual components from multiple suppliers, this kit consolidates the critical hardware into one part number. Black powder-coat finish matches OEM Solera topper hardware and resists UV and moisture in outdoor applications.
Hex rods, mounting brackets, and associated hardware included -- one part number covers the full hardware swap.
Designed specifically for Lippert Solera slide topper awnings. Factory fitment, no fabrication required.
Powder-coated black to match existing Solera hardware and withstand UV exposure and road vibration.
Replaces failed components without pulling the entire awning assembly. Basic hand tools required.
This is a complete hardware kit. Contents are matched to the Solera slide topper mounting system and include the hex drive rods and mounting brackets that anchor the topper tube and fabric to the slide-out room. Replacement fabric, awning tube, and spring assembly are not included -- this kit covers mounting hardware only.
Part 701665 is designed for Lippert Solera slide topper awnings. Solera slide toppers are factory-installed on a wide range of travel trailers, fifth wheels, and Class A and C motorhomes built by Forest River, Coachmen, Keystone, Heartland, and many other brands that sourced their slide-out awnings through Lippert Components.
If your RV has a Solera-branded slide topper and the mounting hardware is bent, corroded, broken, or missing, this kit is the correct OEM replacement path. Verify your existing topper is a Lippert Solera model before ordering -- competitor slide topper systems use different hardware profiles and this kit will not adapt to them.
Before removing old hardware, photograph the existing rod and bracket orientation from multiple angles. Solera toppers rely on correct hex rod alignment for proper spring tension and fabric tracking. Reference photos make reinstallation faster and reduce the chance of misalignment.
Lippert produces multiple slide topper lines. Part 701665 is specifically for the Solera slide topper system. If your topper label reads "Carefree," "A&E," or another brand, this hardware kit will not be a direct fit. Check the awning label on the end cap or tube before ordering.
After installation, inspect hex rod seating and bracket fastener torque after the first 5-10 slide cycles. Road vibration can loosen freshly installed hardware before it fully seats. Apply a corrosion-inhibiting grease or silicone lubricant to the hex rod ends annually to prevent seizing in the brackets.
