Purpose-built for RV owners who camp in cold climates, the Camco TastePURE 22912 integrates a self-regulating heat strip into a full-length 50-foot potable water hose -- so your water line stays open well below freezing without draining tanks or running a heat gun. Lead-free, BPA-free, and phthalate-free construction keeps drinking water safe from hookup to faucet.
Freezing campground hookups are one of the most common problems for three-season and full-time RVers. Most standard drinking water hoses freeze solid when temps drop into the 20s, cutting off your water supply and risking cracked fittings. The Camco 22912 eliminates that problem with a built-in self-regulating heat cable that runs the full 50-foot length, maintaining water flow down to -20F ambient temperature.
The hose is constructed from lead-free, BPA-free, and phthalate-free materials rated for potable drinking water -- the same TastePURE quality Camco is known for, now with cold-weather protection built right in. Standard 3/4-inch GHT fittings on both ends thread onto any city water connection and your RV's inlet without adapters.
Built-in heating element automatically adjusts output based on ambient temperature -- uses only the power it needs.
Rated to keep water flowing in ambient temperatures as low as -20F -- covers most winter camping and cold-storage conditions.
Lead-free, BPA-free, and phthalate-free hose body. TastePURE construction minimizes taste and odor transfer to your water supply.
Full 50-foot run gives you flexibility at most campground sites. 5/8-inch inside diameter delivers solid flow for showers, kitchen, and multiple fixtures.
The 22912 plugs into a standard 120V AC outlet -- the same power pedestal you use for your shore power. The self-regulating heat cable woven into the hose wall draws current proportional to how cold the hose is. In mild weather it barely draws any power; in hard freezes it ramps up to maintain safe water temperatures throughout the line. You do not need a separate thermostat or controller.
Power cord length on the heat cable allows the plug to reach the pedestal without a separate extension -- verify your site layout before relying on this. If your water hookup is more than a cord's reach from the outlet, a short outdoor-rated extension cord may be needed.
The TastePURE hose body is certified for use with drinking water. The heating element is sealed inside the hose wall and does not contact the water stream. Materials are lead-free, BPA-free, and phthalate-free throughout.
Both ends use standard 3/4-inch GHT (Garden Hose Thread) brass fittings -- the universal standard for RV city water inlets and campground pedestal connections. No adapters required for typical RV hookups. If your RV uses a quick-connect system, you may need a GHT-to-quick-connect adapter sold separately.
This hose requires a 120V AC power source to activate the heating element. It will not function as a heated hose without shore power or a generator. The hose itself still carries water without power, but freeze protection is inactive. Plan your outlet access before purchasing for a specific site setup.
