Give your campsite a cleaner, more livable outdoor space. The Camco Open Air mat keeps dirt, grass, and sand from following you into the RV -- and it flips over when one side needs a break.
The Camco 42873 Open Air mat is designed specifically for outdoor living at the RV, tent, or patio. Lay it under your awning to create a defined living area, place it at the entry door to catch debris before it enters the coach, or spread it out at a picnic site or beach. The 6 x 9 ft footprint covers enough ground to matter without being bulky to transport.
The reversible charcoal stripe pattern gives you two usable surfaces in one mat. When one side picks up stains or heavy dirt, flip it over and keep going. The open-weave, breathable construction is the key detail that separates this mat from indoor rugs -- rain and dew drain through instead of pooling, so the mat dries quickly and does not stay wet underfoot.
Two usable sides extend the life of the mat and give you a fresh surface when one side gets dirty.
Rain and moisture drain through rather than pooling. Mat dries fast and stays comfortable underfoot.
Treated to resist fading in direct sun and resist mildew growth in damp campsite conditions.
Easy to roll up and stow in a basement bay or cargo area between trips. No heavy hardware needed.
The 42873 works in a wide range of outdoor settings. Common placements include:
A solid-backing indoor rug used outdoors will trap standing water underneath, encouraging mildew growth on both the mat and the ground surface below. Camco's breathable weave lets water pass through freely, which protects the mat and the ground covering beneath it -- especially important over concrete pads or wood decking.
The Open Air mat is designed for easy field maintenance:
Roll the mat rather than folding to avoid creating permanent crease lines that can weaken the weave over time. Store rolled loosely in a breathable bag or directly in a basement storage bay.
Camco's Open Air mat line is one of the most widely used campsite mat families in North America. The 42873 is the 6 x 9 ft charcoal stripe variant. Other sizes and patterns are available separately in the same product family for buyers who need a different footprint or color. The charcoal stripe pattern is neutral enough to complement most RV exterior color schemes.
