The exterior range hood vent is one of the most overlooked components on an RV. It takes direct UV exposure, road debris, and temperature swings year-round. When the flap cracks, the scoop breaks off, or the mounting flange warps, the whole assembly needs to come out. The Camco 42493 kit supplies every piece of the exterior assembly so you can do a complete repair or full replacement without sourcing parts separately.
Three mounting flanges of varying depths are included so the kit adapts to a wide range of RV sidewall thicknesses -- from thin-walled trailers to thicker motorhome walls -- without cutting or shimming. The replacement flap snaps into place and seals the opening when the hood fan is off, keeping out wind, insects, and rain.

Note: Fasteners (screws or sealant) for attaching the flange to the sidewall are not included. Use a self-leveling lap sealant around the flange perimeter after installation to prevent water intrusion.
This kit is designed for sidewall cutout openings between 10-3/4" x 3-7/8" and 11" x 4-1/8" (width x height). Before ordering, measure your existing opening and your sidewall depth (5/8" to 1-5/8" supported). Openings outside this range will require a different kit or custom trim work.
