Dual air piston system that offsets trolling motor weight for effortless lifting in and out of the water. Designed for MotorGuide Gator Mounts. Reduces lifting effort by up to 50% — especially valuable when running StructureScan or HydroWave add-ons. Red color. Marine-grade stainless steel hardware. Drilling template included.
Modern MotorGuide trolling motors are already heavy enough on their own — add a StructureScan transducer, a HydroWave fish-calling unit, or other bow accessories and the motor can become genuinely difficult to lift and stow repeatedly throughout a day on the water. The strain adds up quickly over a long fishing season, and the aggressive lifting motion required puts wear on both the angler and the mount.
The T-H Marine G-Force Equalizer solves this with a pair of calibrated air pistons that mount to the MotorGuide Gator Mount and work against the motor's weight as you lift — reducing the effective lifting effort by up to 50%. The pistons add a springlike assist to the lift stroke, so what used to require real effort becomes an almost effortless motion. Installation involves drilling into the mount per the included template, then securing the pistons with marine-grade stainless steel hardware. The red color on the GFEQ-MG-R-DP matches tournament and performance boat aesthetics, and the same system is available in black (GFEQ-MG-BK-DP) and blue (GFEQ-MG-BU-DP) for different color scheme preferences.
Dual air pistons offset trolling motor weight — reduce the physical effort of lifting and stowing by up to half compared to unassisted lifting
All fasteners are marine-grade stainless steel — won't rust or corrode in freshwater or saltwater environments
Precision drilling template ensures correct piston placement on the Gator Mount — takes the guesswork out of installation
Designed and manufactured by T-H Marine in the USA — a trusted name in marine fishing accessories since 1975
The G-Force Equalizer is designed to attach to MotorGuide Gator Mount trolling motor mounts. It is not compatible with the MotorGuide X3 motor or its mounting system — the X3 uses a different mount design that does not accept the Equalizer's air piston attachment points. Before ordering, confirm your MotorGuide motor uses a Gator Mount. The Gator Mount is found on most standard MotorGuide freshwater motors including the Tour, Tour Pro, Xi3, Xi5, and other models. If you have a MotorGuide X3, this system will not fit. Spacer note: A spacer set is available separately for boats where the gunnel height requires a riser between the mount and the boat's bow — if your Gator Mount sits lower than typical, check whether a spacer set is needed for your specific boat before completing the installation. Color selection: GFEQ-MG-R-DP is red. Black is GFEQ-MG-BK-DP; blue is GFEQ-MG-BU-DP. Same system, color choice only.
Installation Steps (Overview): 1. Confirm Compatibility: Verify your MotorGuide uses a Gator Mount — confirm it is not the X3 model 2. Review Instructions and Photo Guide: Study the included instructions and mount photo guide before beginning — familiarize yourself with the correct piston orientation and placement 3. Apply Drilling Template: Attach the included drilling template to the Gator Mount at the specified position 4. Drill Mounting Holes: Drill through the mount at the template-marked locations using the specified drill bit size 5. Mount Air Pistons: Attach both air pistons to the mount using the included marine-grade stainless steel hardware 6. Test and Adjust: Deploy and stow the trolling motor to confirm the pistons are providing lift assist throughout the full motion range If your boat requires a riser spacer on the gunnel, contact T-H Marine about the available spacer set before completing installation. Full instructions included in package.
