RV Shady Front Cap Window Cover -- Keystone Cougar (2019-2027)
Stop fighting the sun with generic shades that never quite fit. The Trailersphere RVSHDY16 RV Shady is cut specifically for the front cap window profile of Keystone Cougar travel trailers and fifth wheels built from model year 2019 through 2027. It mounts on the exterior glass surface, blocking heat and UV before they ever reach the interior -- no custom trimming, no bulky interior accordion shades, no adhesive tape residue on your window frames.
The front cap window on a Keystone Cougar is one of the largest glass surfaces in the rig -- and one of the hardest to shade effectively from the inside. The RVSHDY16 solves that by mounting on the outside, conforming directly to the glass. Because it is cut to the exact geometry of the 2019-2027 Cougar front window opening, there are no gaps to let light bleed through at the edges and no excess material flapping in the breeze.
Three-layer construction does the heavy lifting: a durable marine-grade vinyl exterior stands up to UV, rain, and road debris; a 3/8 in. closed-cell neoprene foam core provides meaningful thermal buffering between the hot glass and your interior; and a soft inner liner protects the window glass from scratching during installation and removal. The result is a cover you can deploy quickly at the campsite and pull off just as fast when it is time to roll.
UV-stabilized outer shell resists fading, cracking, and water intrusion through seasons of outdoor storage and active camping use.
Closed-cell foam layer buffers radiant heat transfer through the front glass, reducing interior temperature buildup during hot-weather camping.
Protects window glass from abrasion during installation and storage. Keeps the cover from sliding once positioned against the glass.
Die-cut or CNC-patterned to the actual front cap window dimensions of 2019-2027 Keystone Cougar units -- no field trimming required.
Interior shades -- accordion, roller, cellular -- block light only after the sun's energy has already passed through the glass and entered your living space as heat. An exterior cover like the RVSHDY16 intercepts that radiant energy at the glass surface, keeping the cab end of your Cougar noticeably cooler on a hot afternoon. It also eliminates glare completely rather than just dimming it, making daytime interior living and sleeping more comfortable.
This cover (RVSHDY16) is designed for Keystone Cougar travel trailers and fifth wheels, model years 2019 through 2027, matching the front cap window profile used across that generation. Keystone updated the Cougar front cap design in 2019; units built before 2019 use a different window geometry and require a separate part number. If your Cougar is a 2018 or earlier, check the Trailersphere fitment guide for the correct RV Shady SKU before ordering.
