Replacement tethered dust cap for the 3/4" city water inlet on your RV. Screws onto the city water inlet's male threads to keep dirt, insects, and debris out of your fresh water system when not connected to city water. Integrated strap keeps the cap attached to the inlet housing — never lost. Off white. Fits Valterra EZ Coupler city water inlets and standard 3/4" garden hose threads.
The city water inlet on your RV is the entry point for your fresh water system — when the hose isn't connected, that inlet is exposed to road dust, insects, campground debris, and whatever else is in the air. The small tethered cap that covers it is one of those components that gets overlooked until it's cracked, broken off, or simply missing, leaving the inlet unprotected.
The Valterra T1020-1EVP is the replacement cap for Valterra's EZ Coupler city water inlet line — the plug that screws into the 3/4" male threads on the outside of the inlet housing when the water hose is disconnected. The integrated strap keeps the cap tethered to the inlet housing at all times, so when you unplug the hose at the end of a stay, the cap is always right there hanging from the inlet ready to be threaded back on. The 3/4" male thread fits the EZ Coupler inlet design and is confirmed to use standard 3/4" garden hose threads. Off-white plastic construction. Sold individually, carded.
Strap keeps the plug permanently attached to the city water inlet housing — never misplaced or left behind at the campsite
Screws onto the inlet's male threads to seal the opening against road dust, insects, and debris when the water hose is disconnected
Standard 3/4" garden hose thread — fits Valterra EZ Coupler city water inlets and any inlet with a standard 3/4" male thread port
Simple hand-thread twist-on installation — no tools needed to attach or remove when connecting or disconnecting the city water hose
The T1020-1EVP is the replacement cap for the following Valterra city water inlet part numbers — if you have any of these inlets and the original cap is broken or missing, this is the correct replacement: • A01-2004VP • A01-2000VP • A01-0177LFVP • A01-0176LFVP • A01-0170LFVP • A01-0171LFVP • A01-0172LFVP • A01-0168VP • A01-2001VP Also works on any city water inlet with a standard 3/4" male thread port — confirmed by Valterra to use standard 3/4" garden hose threads, so compatibility extends to non-Valterra inlets that use the same thread standard. If you're unsure which inlet you have, look for the Valterra part number molded into the inlet housing or on any existing sticker inside the RV's utility bay door.
Thread type: The T1020-1EVP uses a 3/4" male thread plug (the plug has threads on the outside and screws into the female threads of the city water inlet). Confirm your city water inlet has a 3/4" female threaded port — most standard Valterra EZ Coupler inlets do, but some inlets use a different thread pattern or a quick-connect mechanism instead of threads. Non-lockable: The T1020-1EVP is a standard (non-locking) plug — it screws in and out by hand without a key. If you need a locking city water cap to prevent unauthorized connection to your fresh water system, see Valterra's locking inlet cap options instead. Color note: This plug is off-white — not pure white. The off-white color matches the housing color of most Valterra EZ Coupler city water inlets. If your inlet housing is a different color, the plug will still function correctly even if the color doesn't match exactly. Sold individually: One plug per carded package.
Installing the Cap After Disconnecting Water: 1. Disconnect the City Water Hose: Turn off the campground water supply and unscrew the hose from the city water inlet 2. Retrieve the Cap: The T1020-1EVP is tethered to the inlet housing — the cap is hanging right there, attached by its strap 3. Thread the Cap On: Hand-thread the plug into the 3/4" female port on the city water inlet — finger-tight is sufficient; do not over-tighten 4. Close the Inlet Door: Close the utility bay or inlet cover door to further protect the inlet Removing the Cap to Connect: 1. Unthread the cap by hand — it will hang from its strap, out of the way 2. Connect the city water hose to the inlet and turn on the supply Check the cap periodically for cracking or deterioration — replace when the plastic shows signs of UV degradation or the threads no longer engage firmly.
