A code-compliant, tool-free propane connection designed specifically for RV regulators and on-demand water heaters. The MER425H-12 features built-in excess flow shutoff and heat-sensitive closure technology -- two safety layers that protect your rig and your family every time you hook up a cylinder.
The Marshall Excelsior MER425H-12 is a 12" high-pressure LP pigtail hose engineered to connect a Female QCC (Quick Check Connector) Type 1 inlet -- compatible with standard ACME-threaded propane cylinders -- to a 1/4" male inverted flare outlet on regulators like the Marshall Excelsior MEGR-253 and MEGR-253H series.
The hand-tighten nylon swivel nut seats firmly on the cylinder valve without tools, making cylinder changes fast and safe. The fitting is not just convenient -- it is engineered with two independent safety mechanisms that go far beyond a standard rubber pigtail.
Internal flow-limiting device detects excess gas flow and restricts output to a maximum of 10 SCFH bypass flow, protecting against hose rupture or disconnection events.
Between 240 F and 300 F the brass nipple displaces approximately 1/4", closing the cylinder valve module and stopping gas flow -- a passive thermal shutoff requiring no manual action.
1/4" ID thermoplastic hose body with brass ferrule ends. Rated to 350 PSIG working pressure and 100% leak tested at the factory before shipment.
Supports up to 400,000 BTU/hr flow capacity -- more than sufficient for dual-stage regulators, furnaces, ranges, water heaters, and combined RV appliance loads.
This pigtail is specifically designed for:
It is the correct replacement or upgrade pigtail for systems using the Marshall Excelsior MEGR-253 or MEGR-253H two-stage regulator, though the QCC1 x 1/4" MIF connection is an industry-standard pairing found on many other regulator brands as well.
Most basic pigtail hoses are passive rubber or thermoplastic lines with no shutoff capability. The MER425H-12 includes two independent safety systems built into the brass nipple assembly:
