RV-mounted flat towing bar for dinghy vehicles up to 8,500 lbs. Self-aligning 3-axis swivel design. Patented non-binding latches. Auto-locking arms for one-person hookup. Foldaway storage on the motorhome. E-coat + powder coat matte black finish. Safety cables included. 3-year warranty. Replaces BX7380.
The Blue Ox BX7390 Alpha 2 is the updated version of the long-popular BX7380, stepping up to an 8,500 lb towing capacity while keeping the features that made the Alpha the go-to choice for flat towing enthusiasts. The self-aligning 3-axis swivel design means the tow bar adjusts itself to the vehicle's position during hookup — drive the dinghy vehicle close to the motorhome, extend the legs, and the arms align themselves without needing precise positioning. The auto-locking arms engage as the legs reach the baseplate tabs, simplifying hookup to a one-person job even on uneven ground.
Blue Ox's patented non-binding latches release cleanly even after towing on rough roads — no fighting stuck connectors at the campsite. The tow bar folds up and stores directly on the back of the motorhome's receiver hitch when not towing. The matte black finish uses Blue Ox's two-stage e-coat immersion plus powder coat process for superior corrosion protection and UV stability that holds up to years of outdoor exposure.

The BX7390 tow bar is one component of a complete flat towing system. A full setup also requires: Baseplate: Vehicle-specific baseplate installed on the dinghy vehicle's front chassis — not included, sold separately. Blue Ox offers vehicle-specific baseplates for most flat-towable vehicles. Electrical/Lighting: Wiring harness or diode kit to pass brake and signal lights to the dinghy vehicle — required by law, sold separately. Supplemental Braking: Many states require a supplemental brake system in the dinghy vehicle — check your state's laws before towing. Tow Bar Cover (optional): Blue Ox tow bar cover (BX8875) protects the Alpha when stored on the motorhome between trips — sold separately.
