The Cummins Onan 140-3116 is the OEM-specified air filter for HGJAB and HGJAC generators across all fuel system types and spec letters, and for the HGJAA LP Liquid variant. It fits the RV QG 5500 and QG 7000 generator families — including the Marquis Gold, Marquis Platinum, and Emerald Advantage series.
Like all Cummins Onan Green Label air filters, the 140-3116 features a special foam pre-cleaner that captures larger airborne particles before they reach the primary filter paper. Non-Green Label substitutes may use lighter-density filter paper and sealing surfaces that become brittle and crack over time, allowing unfiltered air directly into the engine intake. Even a small amount of ingested dirt is enough to accelerate piston ring and cylinder wear.
Replace every 150 hours per the Cummins Onan maintenance schedule.
