The Water Bandit works on the principle of an external slip-on grip rather than an internal threaded fit. The soft rubber body is sized to slide over the outside of a bare faucet spout. Once positioned, you tighten the included clamp ring around the sleeve to increase grip friction against the faucet body. Your hose then threads onto the standard female GHT end of the adapter normally.
Because the connection relies on friction and clamping force rather than threads, flow rate and pressure can vary depending on faucet size and how securely the sleeve seats. When connecting to any campground water source, including unthreaded spigots using the Water Bandit, always place a pressure regulator between the hose and your RV inlet. Campground water pressure can exceed 100 PSI, which can damage RV plumbing, water heaters, and fittings. A regulator set to 40-50 PSI protects your rig.
The Water Bandit is designed for temporary, attended use. It is not rated for unattended pressurized water connections. The sleeve-and-clamp grip can loosen or shift under sustained water pressure, especially on smooth or tapered faucet bodies.
