Easy-to-install replacement vinyl insert for cracked, faded, or stained trim on RV aluminum roof edge molding, trim channels, and truck camper shells. Slides into existing metal track — no special tools needed. 1" wide x 100' roll, 1.25mm thick. UV inhibitors for long-lasting color. Black.
The Camco 25212 is a black vinyl trim insert designed to restore the look of cracked, faded, or stained trim molding on RVs and truck campers. Most aluminum trim molding on an RV is actually a two-piece system: an aluminum extrusion that's permanently fastened to the body, with a vinyl insert that slides into a channel in the extrusion to provide the finished color and a clean edge. Over years of sun exposure, that vinyl insert is what cracks, fades, and discolors first — long before the aluminum itself shows any wear.
The 25212 replaces that worn insert without removing the aluminum extrusion itself. Simply pull out the old, damaged insert and slide the new 1" wide vinyl strip into the same channel — no drilling, no fasteners, no special tools. The 100' roll provides plenty of material for trim runs along roof edges and body seams, with extra to spare for multiple smaller repairs. UV inhibitors help the black color resist fading longer than the original insert likely did. Made in the USA by Camco, a trusted name in RV parts and accessories since 1966.
• 1x 100' roll of 1" black vinyl trim insert Other available colors (same size): • 25202 — White • 25192 — Beige • 25232 — Brown
1. Locate the damaged vinyl insert in the aluminum trim channel 2. Pull the old insert out of the channel — it typically slides out by hand or with light pulling 3. Cut the new vinyl insert to the length of the trim run, with a small amount extra 4. Slide the new insert into the same channel the old one occupied 5. Trim any excess at the ends Working in warmer weather makes the vinyl more flexible and easier to feed into the channel.
Per Camco's own specifications, this vinyl trim insert is designed for aluminum roof edge molding, trim channels, and truck camper shells only. It is not designed for use on windows, entry doors, compartment doors, or vents — those applications require different sealing or trim products.
Vinyl trim inserts come in a handful of standard colors that cover most RV manufacturers' original equipment: • Black (25212 — this item) • White (25202) • Beige (25192) • Brown (25232) If your existing insert has faded significantly, the original color may be hard to identify by eye — check a protected section (under a vent cover or awning rail) for the truest original color.
