Camco Dual-Axis Leveling Pack of 2 Camco 25520 Retro RV Bubble Level -- 2-Pack, Screw or Tape Mount

A level RV protects your refrigerator, keeps slide-outs operating smoothly, and stops cabinet doors from swinging on their own. The Camco 25520 gives you front-to-back and side-to-side readings in one compact unit -- no math, no guessing. Mount one on the rear of your rig and one on the side, and you have a permanent two-point reference every time you park.

Know Exactly When You Are Level

Leveling an RV by feel or by rocking the chassis is unreliable. Absorption refrigerators, in particular, depend on a reasonably level coach -- operating them significantly off-level can cause the cooling unit to fail over time. Slide-out seals also compress more evenly on a level platform, and every drawer and cabinet latch in the rig behaves better when the floor is flat.

The Camco 25520 Retro Bubble Level is a simple, permanent solution. Each level reads both axes simultaneously -- front-to-back and side-to-side -- so a single glance through a window or from the ground tells you everything. This pack includes two levels: mount one on the rear exterior wall and one on the driver-side or curb-side exterior so you can read both planes without walking around the coach.

Dual-Axis in One Unit

Reads front-to-back and side-to-side simultaneously. No need for two separate single-axis levels.

Two Mounting Options

Pre-drilled for screw mounting or use the included double-sided foam tape for a no-drill installation.

Compact and Permanent

At 2.60 x 1.58 x 0.56 inches each, these stay on the rig full-time without snagging on covers or straps.

Pack of 2 -- Full Coverage

Mount one on the rear wall and one on the side wall for a complete two-point leveling reference at every campsite.

Why Leveling Matters for Your RV

Most RV owners know leveling matters, but the reasons go beyond comfort:

  • Absorption refrigerators -- the type found in most RVs -- rely on gravity-driven coolant flow. Consistent off-level operation can overheat the cooling unit and permanently damage it. Manufacturers typically specify the rig be within 3 degrees of level for safe operation.
  • Slide-outs extend and retract on a mechanical track. A level floor reduces side-loading on the slide mechanism and helps the rubber seals compress evenly, extending seal life.
  • Cabinet doors and drawers are designed around a level floor. Even a slight lean causes them to swing or rattle on the road and at camp.
  • Fresh, gray, and black tank readings are more accurate when the rig is level, since sensor probes depend on fluid being at the correct depth relative to the sensor position.

Simple Two-Step Parking Routine

Pull in, check the side-wall level first -- adjust driver/passenger side with leveling blocks. Then check the rear-wall level -- adjust front-to-back with the tongue jack or front leveling jacks. When both bubbles are centered, you are done. The Camco 25520 makes this a 60-second task instead of a 10-minute trial-and-error process.

Mounting Tips

Both mounting methods work well on typical painted or gelcoat RV exterior surfaces:

  • Tape mount: Clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol, peel the backing from the included double-sided foam tape, and press firmly for 30 seconds. Allow the adhesive to cure for a few hours before driving. This is the most common installation method and leaves a very clean look.
  • Screw mount: Use the pre-drilled holes in the level housing. Apply a small bead of lap sealant around the screw heads on exterior surfaces to prevent water intrusion. Use the screw method if the surface is textured, dusty, or if you want a more permanent hold in high-vibration locations.
  • Avoid mounting on surfaces that flex significantly, such as thin aluminum skin near unsupported spans, as repeated flexing can break the adhesive bond.
  • Position the rear-wall level at eye level or near an exterior light where it is easy to read from outside the coach.

Placement Recommendation

One level on the rear exterior wall (reads side-to-side when viewed from behind) and one on the driver-side or curb-side exterior wall (reads front-to-back when viewed from the side) gives you both axes covered without moving. Many full-timers also mount one inside a cabinet door near the entry for a quick interior check.

Maintenance Note

Bubble levels are not serviceable. If the bubble fluid becomes cloudy, the housing cracks, or the level was exposed to extreme heat (such as a dark exterior wall in direct summer sun in the Southwest), replace the unit. At the low cost of a 2-pack, it is practical to keep a spare set on hand.

Pair With Camco Leveling Blocks

The Camco 25520 tells you how much correction you need. Camco yellow leveling blocks (sold separately) let you act on that information quickly. A set of interlocking blocks under the low-side tires, checked against the bubble level, gets most RVs level in one or two attempts.

Important Information

  • These are visual indicator levels only -- they do not connect to any electronic leveling system or display.
  • Designed for RV exterior or interior surfaces. Not intended for use as a precision machinist or construction level.
  • Tape adhesion may be reduced on heavily textured, powdery, or waxed surfaces. Clean thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol before applying.
  • Prolonged exposure to extreme heat on dark exterior surfaces may affect bubble fluid visibility over time. Replace if the vial becomes discolored or cloudy.
  • Screws are NOT included. If using screw mounting on an exterior wall, seal screw heads with compatible lap sealant to prevent water intrusion.
  • These levels indicate general coach leveling -- always follow your RV manufacturer's guidelines for maximum allowable off-level operation of onboard appliances.
