Campground water supplies can push 80, 100, even 125 PSI -- well beyond what your RV's plastic fittings, hose bibs, and water lines are rated to handle. The Camco 40054 drops incoming pressure to a steady 50-60 PSI before it ever reaches your rig, giving you consistent flow without the surge risk that cracks fittings and blows hose connections. Built from lead-free stainless steel, it threads directly onto your city water inlet or fresh water hose in seconds -- no tools required.
Most RV water systems -- hoses, check valves, toilet fill valves, faucet cartridges -- are designed for household-range pressure, typically 40-60 PSI. City water hookups at campgrounds and RV parks routinely run higher, and unregulated pressure spikes are one of the most common causes of blown fresh water hose connections and cracked fittings inside the coach walls.
The Camco 40054 solves the problem at the source. Install it between the campground spigot and your fresh water hose and every fixture downstream stays within a safe operating range. The stainless steel body handles typical campground environments -- including seasonal freeze-thaw cycles -- better than brass or plastic alternatives, and the lead-free certification means it's safe for use on potable water lines.
Fixed preset output protects hoses, fittings, and water appliances from high-pressure campground hookups.
Corrosion-resistant construction handles outdoor exposure, humidity, and repeated seasonal use without degrading.
Safe for potable water lines. Meets lead-free requirements for use on drinking water systems.
Threaded garden hose connections fit directly on campground spigots and standard RV fresh water hoses -- no adapters needed.
Thread the 40054 directly onto the campground water spigot first, then connect your fresh water hose to the regulator's outlet. This position protects the entire hose run and all downstream plumbing. You can also install it at the RV city water inlet if preferred, but spigot-side installation offers the most complete protection.
The 40054 is a fixed-pressure regulator set at the factory to 50-60 PSI. It is not adjustable. If your application requires a dial-adjustable output -- for example, to fine-tune pressure for a low-flow system or a specific pump setup -- Camco's adjustable regulator (part 40055) is the appropriate choice. For the vast majority of RV hookup applications, the 40054's preset range is ideal.
Like all inline water regulators, the 40054 can be damaged by freezing if left connected and full of water during hard freezes. Disconnect and drain the regulator before storing your RV for winter or when overnight temps will drop below 32 deg F. Store indoors or in a heated compartment during the off-season.
