Connect a standard garden hose to the Swivel Stik's inlet fitting. Open the toilet valve fully and lower the cleaning head into the black tank until the shaft bottoms out or you reach the far wall. Turn the 1/4-turn shut-off valve to open -- the water pressure will spin the brass head automatically. Slowly rotate and raise the shaft to cover the full tank length. Close the valve, wait for the tank to drain through the dump valve, then repeat until discharge runs clear.
Tank odors are almost always caused by organic matter left behind after dumping -- not by the fresh waste itself. The Swivel Stik is designed to insert through standard RV toilet openings (the typical 10-inch-diameter ball valve opening found on Thetford and Dometic RV toilets).
