Camco 40646 TastePURE RV and Marine Inline Fresh Water Filter
Cleaner-tasting drinking water at every campsite. The TastePURE 40646 connects inline between the campground spigot and your RV or boat, reducing chlorine, bad taste, odor, and sediment before water ever reaches your tank or faucets.
The Camco TastePURE 40646 is a compact, single-use inline canister filter built for the way RVers and boaters actually use water -- connecting directly to a standard garden hose at the source, before water enters the fresh water system. It requires no tools, no under-sink space, and no plumbing modifications.
Inside the canister is KDF (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) filter media, which uses a copper-zinc redox alloy to reduce free chlorine, hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor), and dissolved heavy metals while also inhibiting bacterial growth within the filter media itself. A 150-micron sediment screen handles grit and particulates that are common at older campground water connections.
The result is water that smells and tastes noticeably cleaner -- especially important when using campground water sources of unknown quality. It is equally suited for sailboats, powerboats, and any freshwater hookup situation where the supply quality is uncertain.
Copper-zinc alloy media reduces chlorine, odor, hydrogen sulfide, and inhibits bacterial growth inside the filter.
Catches grit and particulates common in campground and marina water connections before they reach your tank.
Standard 3/4 inch GHT male and female connections -- no adapters needed for typical RV and marine hookups.
Meets CSA low-lead content requirements. Safe for potable water applications in RV and marine environments.
Camco rates the TastePURE filter for approximately 2 months or 1,500 gallons under typical RV use. Actual service life varies based on water quality and volume used. Heavy sediment loads will shorten filter life. Replace when you notice reduced flow or when taste and odor reduction becomes less effective. Date the filter with a permanent marker when you install it.
Thread your existing garden hose from the campground spigot into the female (inlet) end of the 40646. Then connect a second hose -- or your RV fresh water inlet directly -- to the male (outlet) end. Flow direction is marked on the canister. Hand-tighten connections; do not use tools on the plastic housing threads. The filter can be left in place during filling and removed for storage. It is not designed for continuous pressurized use inside the RV plumbing system -- use it as a pre-tank fill filter.
Camco offers a flexible hose protector (Camco 40043 or 40044) that attaches to the ends of the filter canister to prevent kinking at the hose-to-filter connection. The 40646 filter does NOT include a hose protector. If you are upgrading from a Camco TastePURE bundle kit, note this unit is the canister only.
