Camco Two-Stage LP Regulator CSA Listed Camco 59322 Horizontal Two-Stage Propane Regulator

Designed for RVs, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and multi-appliance propane systems, the Camco 59322 integrates both the first and second regulation stages into a single horizontal-mount body. The result is a steadier, more consistent gas supply to all downstream appliances -- furnaces, ranges, water heaters, and refrigerators -- at a regulated 11 inches water column (WC) output pressure, regardless of tank fill level or ambient temperature fluctuations.

Consistent Propane Delivery Across All Your Appliances

Single-stage regulators force each appliance to cope with variable tank pressure as it drops throughout the fill cycle. A two-stage design solves this by performing a coarse pressure reduction at the first stage (from tank pressure down to an intermediate level) and then a fine, precise reduction at the second stage to the working pressure your appliances require. The Camco 59322 handles both stages in one compact, horizontal-oriented housing -- no separate high-pressure regulator pigtail required.

The horizontal orientation keeps the regulator vent pointing downward and away from moisture, which is important for longevity in exposed compartment installations. At 160,000 BTU per hour maximum capacity, this regulator supports a typical full RV appliance load including a furnace, two-burner cooktop, oven, water heater, and absorption refrigerator running simultaneously.

Integrated Two-Stage Design

First and second stages in one body deliver smoother pressure regulation without a separate high-pressure stage regulator or pigtail assembly.

160,000 BTU/Hr Capacity

Handles the full combined load of a typical RV appliance package -- furnace, range, oven, water heater, and refrigerator -- without pressure drop or surging.

Stable 11 In. WC Output

Regulated outlet pressure of 11 inches water column meets the standard operating requirement for most RV propane appliances rated for natural-gas-equivalent LP pressure.

CSA Listed

Certified by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) for safe use in propane gas systems, meeting applicable standards for RV and recreational vehicle LP installations.

Horizontal Mount -- Why Orientation Matters

Propane regulators must be installed in the correct orientation for the internal diaphragm and vent to function properly. The 59322 is specifically built for horizontal installation, meaning the regulator body mounts with the vent port facing downward. This prevents rain, condensation, and debris from entering the vent, which can cause freeze-ups or erratic pressure regulation. If your existing regulator bracket or manifold is configured for horizontal mounting, the 59322 is a direct-fit replacement without bracket modification.

One Regulator, Full System Coverage: The two-stage design means you connect this regulator directly to the tank POL or ACME fitting (via a compatible pigtail, sold separately) and run a single outlet line to your appliance manifold. No intermediate high-pressure line between two separate regulators is needed.

Typical Installation Use Cases

  • Replacing a failed or aging two-stage regulator on a travel trailer, fifth wheel, or Class A/C motorhome propane system
  • Upgrading from a single-stage regulator where pressure inconsistency is causing appliance performance issues
  • New build or re-plumb where a single-body two-stage unit simplifies the installation
  • Systems with dual tanks connected via an automatic or manual changeover valve feeding into this regulator
Connection Note: The 1/4 in. NPT inlet connects to the high-pressure side (from the tank or changeover valve). The 3/8 in. NPT outlet connects to your low-pressure appliance supply line. Thread sealant rated for LP gas (not standard Teflon tape alone) should be used on all connections. No hose, pigtail, or POL fitting is included.

What Is and Is Not Included

  • Included: Camco 59322 two-stage horizontal propane regulator body
  • NOT included: connecting hose or pigtail
  • NOT included: POL or ACME tank fitting
  • NOT included: shutoff valve (this regulator does not have an integrated shutoff)
  • NOT included: mounting hardware or bracket
Maintenance Tip: Inspect the regulator vent screen annually for insect nests, debris, or corrosion. Mud dauber wasps are a common cause of LP regulator failure in RVs. A blocked vent can result in dangerously high downstream pressure. Replace the regulator if the body is cracked, corroded, or has been submerged.

Warranty

Camco backs this regulator with a limited 90-day warranty against defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing
  • LP gas work must comply with NFPA 58 (Liquefied Petroleum Gas Code) and all applicable local codes. In many jurisdictions, LP system modifications must be inspected by a certified technician.
  • This regulator does NOT include an integrated shutoff valve. Ensure a shutoff is present elsewhere in the system (at the tank or at a manifold).
  • Install in the horizontal orientation only -- do not mount vertically. Incorrect orientation can cause internal diaphragm damage or vent obstruction.
  • Use LP-rated thread sealant on all NPT connections. Standard white Teflon tape alone is not recommended for LP fittings.
  • Perform a leak test with soapy water or approved leak detection solution after every installation or reconnection. Never use an open flame to check for leaks.
  • Do not exceed 160,000 BTU/hr total connected appliance load. Overloading the regulator can cause pressure drop and appliance malfunction.
  • No hose, pigtail, POL fitting, or mounting hardware is included. Purchase appropriate fittings separately to match your tank connection type (POL, ACME, or OPD).
  • Replace the regulator if it has been in service more than 10 years, shows external corrosion, has a cracked or damaged body, or has been submerged in water.
