The Cummins Onan 140-3280 is the OEM-specified air filter for the KY MicroQuiet (QG 3600/4000) and KYD Camp Power generator series, replacing the earlier 140-2852. As a Green Label Part, it is engineered specifically for the Cummins Onan air intake system — using a higher-density filter media and durable sealing surfaces that maintain a proper seal over time.
The filter uses a sponge foam element to capture large dust and debris particles, with a protective metal mesh on both the inside and outside for structural support during suction. Non-OEM "will-fit" alternatives frequently use lighter-density filter paper and sealing gaskets that become brittle and crack, allowing unfiltered air into the engine — accelerating wear on piston rings and cylinder walls.
