Coleman Mach 7330-6111 RV Air Conditioner Ceiling Assembly Coil Sensor Service Kit

Coleman Mach 7330-6111 RV Air Conditioner Ceiling Assembly Coil Sensor Service Kit

OEM coil sensor replacement service kit for Coleman Mach 8330, 7330, 8370, 6536, and 8530 Series ceiling assemblies. Includes sensor cable with connectors, push-in plastic fastener, and four screws.

Coleman Mach 7330-6111 Coil Sensor Service Kit

The Coleman Mach 7330-6111 is the OEM coil sensor service kit for compatible 8330, 7330, 8370, 6536, and 8530 Series ceiling assemblies. The evaporator coil sensor is a critical freeze protection component — it monitors the temperature of the evaporator coil inside the ceiling plenum. When the coil temperature drops below 28°F (indicating restricted airflow or freeze conditions), the sensor opens the compressor control circuit, shutting down the compressor to prevent coil ice buildup and compressor damage. Compressor operation resumes automatically once the coil warms back to 55°F.

Over time, sensor cables can become damaged from vibration, aging, or physical contact with other components during service. Connectors may corrode or loosen, causing intermittent compressor shutdown or loss of freeze protection. The 7330-6111 service kit provides the complete replacement cable and sensor assembly — along with the push-in plastic fastener used to clip the sensor securely to the evaporator coil fins, and four screws for ceiling assembly service access — so a proper field replacement can be completed without sourcing hardware separately.

The 30" cable provides sufficient reach to route from the control box terminal to the sensor mounting position on the evaporator coil. The 13/16" diameter push-in fastener holds the sensor probe in firm contact with the coil fins, which is essential for accurate temperature sensing.

🔧 How The Coil Sensor Works

The sensor probe clips to the evaporator coil fins inside the ceiling plenum and connects to the FREEZE terminal on the control box. During normal AC operation, the sensor remains in a closed circuit state, allowing the compressor to run.

If evaporator airflow is restricted — by a clogged filter, blocked return, or other cause — the coil temperature drops toward freezing. When the coil reaches 28°F, the sensor opens the compressor circuit, halting compressor operation. The blower fan continues to run to defrost the coil. Once the coil warms back to 55°F, the sensor closes and the compressor restarts automatically.

⚠️ Proper Sensor Placement Is Critical

The sensor probe must be in firm contact with the evaporator coil fins to function correctly. A sensor that has vibrated loose or is not clipped into the coil fins may fail to detect freeze conditions — allowing the coil to ice over — or may cause random compressor shutdowns if the probe is floating free in the plenum air stream. Use the included push-in fastener to secure the probe to the coil at installation.
