Dayton 1202 CFM Dual Voltage 115/230V Dayton 1TDU2 Replacement Blower Motor -- 1202 CFM, 1320/1380 RPM, 115/230V

The Dayton 1TDU2 is a direct replacement centrifugal blower motor engineered to swap in where the Dayton 4C831 was installed. Dual-voltage operation (115V or 230V), 50/60 Hz compatibility, Class B insulation, and ball-bearing construction make this a reliable workhorse for HVAC air handling, ventilation, and exhaust applications in commercial, industrial, and large RV or marine service environments.

Direct-Replacement Blower Motor for Dayton 4C831

If your Dayton 4C831 blower motor has failed or is showing signs of bearing wear, the 1TDU2 is the correct replacement. It shares the same housing footprint, shaft diameter, wheel dimensions, and dual-voltage wiring configuration, so you can swap it in without modifying the existing cabinet or ductwork.

Also sold and cross-referenced as NBK Parts 20531, so this part may appear under either number depending on your supplier. Confirm your replacement using the housing dimensions and flange size listed in the specs to the right before ordering.

High Airflow Output

Moves 1202 CFM to handle demanding ventilation loads in large cabinets, air handlers, or roof-mount HVAC units.

Dual Voltage

Wires for 115V or 230V operation. Compatible with both 50 Hz and 60 Hz power systems for domestic and international use.

Ball Bearing Construction

Ball bearings extend service life versus sleeve-bearing designs, especially in continuous-duty or high-temperature environments.

Auto Overload Protection

Built-in automatic thermal overload protection shuts the motor down if it exceeds safe operating temperature, then resets automatically.

Voltage and Wiring Configuration

The 1TDU2 supports two operating voltages using a standard dual-voltage motor wiring configuration. At 115V/60 Hz, the motor draws 7.3A on the low-voltage winding and 3.7A on the high-voltage winding. At 50 Hz, draw is 4.8A (115V) or 2.5A (230V). Select the correct winding tap to match your panel voltage before energizing.

Dual-Voltage Wiring Note: Always verify panel voltage and configure the motor leads accordingly before installation. Running a 115V-configured motor on 230V -- or vice versa -- will damage the windings. Refer to the motor nameplate wiring diagram before connecting to power.

Wheel and Housing Fit

The forward-curved centrifugal blower wheel measures 8-1/4 in diameter x 5-1/4 in wide, matched to a 7-inch round inlet. The outlet opening is 7-1/8 in wide x 5-1/2 in tall. Overall housing dimensions are 11-7/8 in wide x 14-7/8 in tall x 13-1/8 in deep -- confirm these against your existing unit before ordering, as similar-looking blowers may have slightly different housing sizes.

The mounting flange measures 5-1/16 in wide x 5-5/8 in tall. The motor shaft is 12 mm diameter, and the wheel rotation is clockwise when viewed from the inlet side. Verify rotation direction matches your application before installation.

Clockwise Rotation: The 1TDU2 wheel rotates clockwise when viewed from the inlet (suction) side. Confirm your application calls for clockwise rotation before installing. Installing a wrong-rotation blower will dramatically reduce airflow and may not create positive pressure.

Insulation Class and Temperature Rating

Class B insulation is rated for continuous operation up to 130 deg C winding temperature rise. The maximum allowable inlet air temperature is 104 deg F (40 deg C) -- do not use this motor in high-temperature exhaust streams above this limit without verifying thermal compatibility. Class B is standard for commercial HVAC duty cycles.

Maintenance Tip: Ball bearings are permanently lubricated on this motor series and do not require field re-greasing. Inspect for vibration and bearing noise annually. Clean the blower wheel of debris buildup at each service interval to maintain rated CFM output.

Typical Applications

  • Replacement for failed Dayton 4C831 blower assemblies
  • Commercial and industrial HVAC air handlers
  • Large cabinet ventilation and forced-air cooling systems
  • Exhaust and supply-air ventilation in service bays and utility rooms
  • Large RV or coach rooftop HVAC service (where 115/230V shore power is available)
  • Marine and dockside ventilation systems with 50/60 Hz power
Not a 12V/24V DC Motor: This is an AC motor requiring 115V or 230V shore power. It is not suitable for direct 12V or 24V DC RV battery or inverter applications unless a compatible inverter delivering stable AC power is used. Confirm power availability before ordering.

Important Information -- Read Before Installing
  • This motor operates on 115V or 230V AC power only. It is NOT a 12V or 24V DC motor.
  • Always configure dual-voltage leads to match your supply voltage before energizing. Incorrect wiring will damage the motor.
  • Wheel rotation is clockwise viewed from the inlet side. Verify this matches your application before installation.
  • Maximum inlet air temperature is 104 deg F (40 deg C). Do not use in high-temperature exhaust streams exceeding this limit.
  • Automatic overload protection will shut the motor down on thermal fault and reset automatically -- investigate root cause (blocked inlet, high ambient temp) before returning to service.
  • Confirm all three housing dimensions and flange size match the existing installation before ordering. Similar Dayton blowers exist in nearby CFM ranges with different footprints.
  • No installation hardware or ducting is included. This is the motor/blower assembly only.
