A professional-grade, high-temperature RTV silicone sealant that forms a flexible, oil-resistant gasket in place. Whether you are sealing a water pump housing, capping an exhaust crossover pipe, or reseating a thermostat housing, this 3 oz black tube delivers the heat resistance and chemical compatibility the job demands.
RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) silicone gasket makers cure at ambient temperature to form a durable, flexible seal that holds up under sustained heat cycles. Englander part 20080-1 is formulated for high-heat zones -- rated to 590 deg F (310 deg C) continuous -- making it appropriate for exhaust manifolds, crossover pipes, thermostat housings, and water pump flanges where standard sealants fail.
The black color signals a low-volatile, sensor-safe-style formulation designed to avoid fouling oxygen sensors in close proximity. It resists oil, coolant, water, and antifreeze, which are the four fluids most likely to cause conventional gasket compound to soften and leak.
Withstands sustained exhaust-side heat up to 590 deg F (310 deg C) without cracking, hardening, or losing adhesion.
Resists engine oil, water, coolant, and antifreeze -- critical for water pump and thermostat housing applications.
Cures to a rubber-like, flexible film that absorbs vibration and thermal expansion rather than cracking under cycling stress.
Compact, single-use-friendly 3 oz tube. Enough for several typical sealing jobs on gasket flanges and housing mating surfaces.
This RTV compound is suited for the following sealing tasks:
For best results, apply to a clean, dry, oil-free surface. Remove all traces of old gasket material and solvent-clean both mating surfaces before applying a consistent bead. Allow adequate cure time before introducing heat or fluid -- typically 1 hour to skin and 24 hours for a full cure under normal conditions (approximately 65-75 deg F, 40-65% relative humidity).
