Replaces the release clip that retains a round spring bar in the Fastway e2 hitch head assembly. Sold as a single clip with hardware. Compatible with all Fastway e2 round bar systems — 6K, 8K, and 10K models. For round bar systems only — not for trunnion bar systems. Order two for both sides of the head.
The spring bar release clip — also called the retainer clip or keeper tab — is the small but critical piece of hardware on the Fastway e2 hitch head that holds each round spring bar in its seated position in the head assembly. When the clip is broken, bent, missing, or worn, the spring bar can't be retained properly in the head, which compromises the entire weight distribution and sway control function of the hitch.
The 94-02-1059 is Fastway's OEM replacement release clip with hardware for e2 round bar systems. It's a well-regarded part with a 99% satisfaction rate across nearly 200 reviews at etrailer — commonly ordered when a clip breaks during hookup or disconnect, is lost when the hitch is disassembled, or simply wears out after years of use. The clip fits all e2 round bar head sizes (6K, 8K, and 10K), making it a universal replacement regardless of which round bar e2 system you have. Sold as a single clip — one per spring bar position, so order two if replacing both sides of the hitch head simultaneously.
The release clip is what holds the round spring bar securely in the hitch head socket — a worn or missing clip means the spring bar won't stay in place
Fits all Fastway e2 round bar head assemblies — 6K, 8K, and 10K models — one part number covers the full round bar lineup
Sold with the hardware needed for installation — no separate trip to a hardware store for fasteners
Nearly 200 verified reviews at etrailer with a 99% satisfaction rate — a reliable, commonly purchased replacement part
The 94-02-1059 release clip is designed specifically for Fastway e2 round bar weight distribution systems. It is not compatible with trunnion bar e2 systems, which use a different head design and different retention hardware. How to confirm your e2 style: Round bar e2 systems use cylindrical steel bars (they look like heavy round rods). Trunnion bar systems use a different bar profile that engages the hitch head differently. Check your spring bars — if they are round, smooth-profile rods, you have a round bar system and this clip is correct. Sold as a single clip: One 94-02-1059 clip covers one spring bar position on the hitch head. A complete e2 head has two positions (one per side). If you need to replace both clips, order two units. Alternative: The Curt #17109 spring bar retainer clip is also confirmed compatible with Fastway e2 round bar heads as an aftermarket alternative.
Removing the Old Clip: The release clip is installed with pins that do not have standard screw heads — removal requires some careful prying: 1. Pry out the lower screw/pin: Use a small chisel, screwdriver, or pry tool to work the lower pin out of the clip — it has no slot or Phillips head, so prying is required 2. Slide the clip down: Once the lower pin is out, slide the clip downward through the hole in the hitch head 3. Pry out the top pin: With the clip repositioned, pry out the upper pin Installing the New Clip: Reverse the removal process — insert the top pin first, position the clip, then seat the lower pin.
