Installation replaces every existing vent cap with a Flow-Rite shut-off valve. The 127 flex tubing manifolds connect valve to valve across all batteries in the bank. A single fill hose with quick-connect fitting attaches to a designated entry point on the manifold. When you connect a water source (hand pump, gravity jug, or pressurized hose with a flow regulator), water distributes simultaneously to all cells. Each valve is spring-loaded and pressure-sensitive -- the moment a cell's electrolyte rises to the correct level, that valve closes. When all valves are closed, back-pressure rises in the manifold and fluid rises in the Eagle Eye indicator, signaling a complete fill.
Flow-Rite Pro-Fill systems are designed to work with low-pressure fill sources. Use distilled or deionized water -- tap water mineral content can accelerate plate sulfation. For consistent results, Flow-Rite recommends a dedicated hand pump or gravity-fed jug rather than direct tap pressure above approximately 30 PSI. A pressure regulator is advised if connecting to a household water line.
Always fill flooded lead-acid batteries after a full charge cycle, not before. Electrolyte expands during charging -- filling a discharged battery to the correct level will cause overflow once the battery reaches full charge.
