Without a wireless remote, connecting shore power can be a two-person job: one person pulls out the cord and plugs it in at the pedestal, while someone else stands at the coach to hit the retract button when you're done. With the 04154-1B wireless remote, one person can do it all – pull out the cord, walk to the pedestal, plug in, then hit the button on the key fob when you're ready to leave. The existing wired control switch continues to work normally, so you have both options.
The Glendinning Cablemaster is a motorized power cord reel that stores your RV or boat shore power cable on a drum inside a compartment. When you need power, you pull out the cord (the motor disengages for "zero effort" extension). When you're ready to leave, you press a switch and the motor retracts the cord automatically. It's a huge convenience upgrade over coiling a heavy, stiff 50-amp cord by hand.
The problem is that the standard control switch is usually mounted inside the coach, near the Cablemaster unit. That means you need a second person to press the button while you guide the cord, or you have to make multiple trips back and forth.
The 04154-1B wireless remote kit solves this by adding a radio-frequency (RF) remote control system. The kit includes a receiver module and two wireless transmitters (key fobs). The receiver wires into your Cablemaster's relay assembly, tapping into the same control circuit that the existing manual switch uses. When you press a button on the key fob, it sends a radio signal to the receiver, which triggers the appropriate relay to extend or retract the cord.
The receiver has built-in relays for all four channels. Channels 1 and 2 are pre-wired with color-coded leads that match the standard Cablemaster relay assembly wiring. Channels 3 and 4 have separate relay contacts that you can wire to whatever you need – a second Cablemaster, a Hosemaster, an awning motor, LED lights, or any other DC-powered device.

This kit replaces the older 04154 and 04155 remote kits and is fully backwards compatible. If you're replacing a failed older remote or adding a remote to a system that previously didn't have one, the 04154-1B is the current part number.
The wireless remote kit connects to your Cablemaster's relay assembly (part #04034 for 12V/24V systems). Most Cablemaster units come with a relay assembly installed or as part of the standard control package. If your Cablemaster only has a simple ON/OFF switch without a relay assembly, you'll need to add the relay assembly (sold separately) before the wireless remote will work. Not sure if you have a relay assembly? Look at the wiring at your control switch. If you have separate wires for IN, OUT, and limit switches (typically red, white, black, and orange wires), you likely have a relay assembly. If you only have two wires going to a simple toggle switch, you probably don't. Call us or Glendinning tech support if you're unsure.
The 04154-1B receiver module has pre-wired leads with 1/4" female quick-connect terminals that match the standard Glendinning relay assembly connections. The color coding follows Glendinning's standard scheme:
Power supply requirements: • 12V DC system: Use a 20-amp circuit breaker (Cablemaster draws 8-10 running amps) • 24V DC system: Use a 15-amp circuit breaker (Cablemaster draws 5-6 running amps) • Remote receiver itself uses a 5-amp fuse/breaker

The key fob transmitters come pre-programmed to work with the receiver out of the box. If you need to reprogram them (for example, if you're adding additional transmitters or replacing a lost fob), the process is straightforward:
The default programming is for momentary actuation (button press = action, release = stop). For sustained operation or special applications, contact Glendinning tech support.
Mounting the receiver: The receiver can be mounted inside the same compartment as the Cablemaster, but for best range, mount the external antenna where it has a clear path to the outside – not buried behind metal panels. Some installers run the antenna wire up through the compartment wall and mount the antenna on the exterior or inside a fiberglass section. Wire connections: Use the 1/4" quick-connect terminals for easy installation and service. If you prefer a more permanent connection, you can cut off the terminals and solder or crimp directly. Testing: Before buttoning everything up, test the system from various locations around your RV. The range will vary depending on how the antenna is positioned and what's between the fob and the receiver. Spare transmitter: Keep the second key fob in a safe place as a backup. You can also keep one inside the coach and one on your keyring.
Channels 3 and 4 are normally-open (N.O.) relay contacts that can switch up to 10 amps. They're not wired to anything by default – they're there for you to use however you want:
The relay contacts are rated for 10 amps max. For higher-current loads, use the 04154-1B's relay contacts to trigger a higher-capacity relay or contactor.
The 04154-1B is the current version of Glendinning's wireless remote kit. It replaces: • 04154 – Previous 12V wireless remote • 04155 – Previous 24V wireless remote The new 04154-1B works with both 12V and 24V systems (12-30V DC input range), so there's now just one part number to worry about. It's also backwards compatible with all older installations – the wiring colors and connector types are the same, and the mounting holes are similar (though the hole centers may be slightly different from older units). If you're replacing an old remote: The 04154-1B is a direct replacement. You can reuse your existing wiring and just swap in the new receiver box and transmitters.
For the Cablemaster motor circuit: • 12V DC: 20-amp breaker (8-10 running amps) • 24V DC: 15-amp breaker (5-6 running amps) For the wireless remote receiver: • 5-amp fuse or breaker
