The snap lock bail is spring-tensioned for a firm, reliable hold that keeps the coupler latch locked during towing. The included security chain (pin saver) fastens the pin to the coupler itself, so the pin is always where it needs to be and can't be misplaced. At 5/16" diameter and 2-1/2" usable length, this is the larger coupler pin for couplers requiring a heavier pin than the standard 1/4" small pin. Zinc plated high-strength steel is rust and corrosion resistant.
